"Epilepsy, the tendency for unprovoked seizures, is a common neurological condition affecting more than 60 million people worldwide. It is a significant burden to the individual and society as it carries considerable morbidity and risk of premature mortality. The diagnosis of epilepsy is entirely clinical and relies upon a bonafide history of seizures usually from witnesses account. Investigations, particularly neurophysiological techniques such as electroencephalography (EEG) are essential to confirm the diagnosis and to inform syndromic classification. Imaging is critical to check on the structural integrity of the brain."
