Festival Internacional de Cinema sobre a Migração

Inspirar, Informar, Incluir e Combater a Xenofobia

É com este lema que a OIM – Organização Internacional para as Migrações - organiza a 5ª edição do Festival Internacional sobre a Migração para celebrar o Dia Internacional do Migrante.

Sinopse: Quando o artista israelita Raffael Lomas completou 50 anos, ele sabia que queria que o seu próximo trabalho tivesse significado. Assim, quando soube de um grupo de crianças do Sudão do Sul que foram criadas em Israel e deportadas para o Sudão do Sul, ele agarrou a oportunidade de fazer arte com elas. Ele queria “ver o que aconteceria”. O que aconteceu, ao longo de vários dias durante as férias de verão, foi que Raffael e os alunos construíram uma casa feita de 8.000 clipes de papel - 8.000 pontos de conexão - simbolizando o significado de casa.

A sessão irá contar ainda com a participação da Alta-Comissária para as Migrações, Sónia Pereira e do Chefe de Missão da OIM Portugal, Vasco Malta.

Synopsis: When Israeli artist Raffael Lomas turned 50, he knew he wanted his next work to have meaning. So, when he learned about a group of South Sudanese children who had been raised in Israel and later deported to South Sudan, he jumped at a chance to make art with them. He wanted to “see what would happen.” What happened, over the course of several days during the summer vacation, Raffael and the students built a house made out of 8000 paper clips – 8000 points of connection – symbolizing the meaning of home.

The session will have the participation of the High Commissioner for Migration, Sónia Pereira and IOM’s Portugal Head of Office, Vasco Malta.
