Bem-vindos a “Noche de Ronda”, uma noite de música e cinema apresentada por Salvador Sobral, e um dos vários eventos especiais propostos pelo LEFFEST’20. Quinta-feira, dia 19 de Novembro, pelas 18h, recebemos Salvador Sobral no Teatro Tivoli BBVA para um serão muito especial que presta homenagem ao México através da projecção de dois filmes e da interpretação de canções mexicanas escolhidas pelo músico. O serão será inaugurado com a projeção de OS ESQUECIDOS (1950), primeiro filme do “período mexicano” de Luis Buñuel que retrata o quotidiano de uma juventude marginalizada na Cidade do México e que venceu o Prémio de Melhor Realizador no Festival de Cannes. Segue-se um concerto de canções mexicanas, em que Salvador Sobral será acompanhado por Diogo Picão (voz e saxofones), Olmo Marín (voz e guitarra), Diogo Duque (trompete e flauta transversal) e Francesco Valente (contrabaixo). A noite termina com a projeção de E A TUA MÃE TAMBÉM (2001), drama erótico realizado pelo cineasta mexicano Alfonso Cuarón, no qual o cineasta redefine o road movie americano para retratar um momento de importantes mudanças sociais e políticas no México. On Thursday 19th of November, at 6PM, we will be joined by Salvador Sobral at Teatro Tivoli BBVA for a very special evening that pays tribute to Mexico through the screening of two films and the performance of several songs specially selected by our guest. The evening kicks off with the screening of LOS OLVIDADOS (1950), the first film of Luis Buñuel’s “Mexican years”, which portrays the daily life of poverty-stricken marginalized youth in Mexico City and won the Award for Best Director at Cannes. The screening is followed by a concert of Mexican songs, interpreted by Salvador Sobral in the company of Diogo Picão (vocals and saxophone), Olmo Marín (vocals and guitar), Diogo Duque (trumpet and transverse flute) and Francesco Valente (contrabass). The evening concludes with the screening of Y TU MAMÁ TAMBIÉN (2001), an erotic drama directed by Mexican filmmaker Alfonso Cuarón, in which the filmmaker rethinks the American road movie genre so as to illustrate a moment of important political and social change in Mexico.
