Num mundo à beira do colapso ambiental, nunca foi tão importante criar consciência sobre a necessidade de lutar contra a injustiça climática. A mudança não pode ser deixada para amanhã – é para agora! Em apoio à resiliência e coragem de uma nova geração de rebeldes em luta por uma revolução verde, o LEFFEST’20 organiza uma sessão especial de NOW! (2020), estreia no cinema do célebre fotógrafo de culto, Jim Rakete. "Se vocês falharem, nunca vos perdoaremos!" diz, furiosa, a geração de jovens activistas ambientais apelando aos adultos por sensatez. A razão: o futuro está sob ameaça do aquecimento global. Em NOW, o realizador Jim Rakete fala com alguns dos jovens mais proeminentes da rebelião climática, entre eles, a estudante sueca Greta Thunberg, que se tornou líder do movimento que abalou o grande público com acções de desobediência civil, protestos e manifestações. Apoiados por figuras públicas como a lenda do rock Patti Smith e o cineasta Wim Wenders, os activistas elevam as suas vozes. A exibição do filme será seguida de um debate com Acácio Pires, membro da associação ambientalista ZERO; Joana Barrios, actriz portuguesa; Duarte Marques, activista da Extinction Rebellion; e Bianca Castro, activista da Greve Climática Estudantil. In solidarity with the dedicated and courageous activists that are fighting for a green revolution, LEFFEST’20 organizes a special screening of the documentary NOW (2020) by famous cult photographer Jim Rakete, "If you fail, we will never forgive you!" says, angrily, the generation of young climate rebels appealing to adult reason. The reason: our future is threatened by global warming. In NOW, Jim Rakete talks with some of the most prominent faces of the climate rebellion, of which, Swedish student Greta Thunberg, who has risen to become the leading figure of the worldwide movement that has shaken up the general public with civil disobedience, strikes and demos. Supported by punk rock legend Patti Smith and filmmaker Wim Wenders, the activists raise their voice. The screening of the film will be followed by a debate between Acácio Pires, member of the environmental association ZERO, Joana Barrios, a Portuguese actress, Duarte Marques, an activist at Extinction Rebellion and Bianca Castro, an activist at the Student Climate Strike.
