//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Dance x MARLENE MONTEIRO FREITAS MAL - EMBRIAGUEZ DIVINA 24 SEP 2020 THU 21:00 25 SEP 2020 FRI 21:00 26 SEP 2020 SAT 19:00 Main Auditorium Culturgest Duration 90 min M/6 More info: https://bit.ly/2BrsDCY For a long time, Evil was personified by the Devil – or Anti-Christ, Satan, Leviathan, Lucifer – but also symbolized by the Witch, Sorcerer, Woman, Animal, Hybrid, Mutant and many others. We find it in the Bible, at the centre of literary and artistic creations and in social and moral discourses. In due course, Evil extended to the ideas of social injustice, violence, sickness, capitalism, the atomic bomb, pollution. The Evil of Marlene Freitas is put on a tribune, where a chorus – in a tonality that preannounces melancholia – is assaulted by visions. Marlene Monteiro Freitas has gained international recognition with her virtuoso and expressive choreographies. Considered among the most original and influential voices in modern-day choreography, she has presented her creations at the world’s most prestigious festivals and theatres, from New York to Seoul and from Montreal to Lisbon. In 2018, she was awarded the Silver Lion at the Venice Biennale.
