Heather Lyon é uma artista americana que trabalha maioritariamente com instalação, vídeo e performance. Combinando o seu interesse pelos significados dos materiais e as questões relacionadas com o corpo humano, investiga as formas como lidamos com a perda, o desejo e a vulnerabilidade. "The Sigh of Velvet" parte de uma série de experimentações a partir de tecidos encontrados, para investigar sensações físicas e mentais quais a saudade, a memória, a submersão e o oceano. Este trabalho inclui veludos que pertenceram a Amália Rodrigues (1920-1999), que foram adquiridos através de uma série de eventos imprevisíveis e sincronísticos. >>> HEATHER LYON (Maine, EUA) desenvolve uma prática artística que oscila entre performance e artes visuais. Obteve um BFA e um MFA da School of the Art Institute, Chicago. O seu trabalho foi exibido e apresentado recentemente no Center for Maine Contemporary Art, Rockland, Maine, TEDx Dirigo (Portland, Maine), The Danforth Gallery, (Augusta, Maine), "The Picnic Pavilion", um projeto paralelo à 58a Biennale di Venezia (Veneza, Itália), The State Silk Museum (Tbilisi, Geórgia) e Artisterium 10 (Tbilisi, Geórgia), pela qual recebeu o Emergency Artist Grant pela Foundation for Contemporary Arts, New York. Heather Lyon, is an installation, video and performance artist based in Maine, USA. Combining her interest in the meanings of materials and the question of the human body, she investigates relationships and the ways in which we negotiate loss, desire, and vulnerability. "The Sigh of Velvet" is fabric based investigation into physical sensations of longing, memory, submersion, and the ocean. This work includes velvet that once belonged to Amália Rodrigues (1920-1999) and was acquired through a series of synchronistic events. >>> HEATHER LYON holds a BFA and MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
