O mestre e amigo Masakazu Kusakabe está de regresso à Cerdeira em 2020 para festejar connosco o 5º aniversário do SASUKENEI-FORNO SEM FUMO, inventado e desenhado por ele, e construído com a ajuda de um grupo de artistas e ceramistas fantástico.
Pela 5ª vez temos o prazer de receber Sensei Masakazu Kusakabe para uma imersão não só na cerâmica e cozedura a lenha como na cultura japonesa 
Conhecer a história da cerâmica japonesa, os vidrados de cinza, fazer taças de chá na roda ou na mão,  pequenas esculturas ou objectos  em diferentes pastas para depois entregá-las ao poder do fogo é algo mágico.
Masakazu Kusakabe é um verdadeiro mestre em todos os sentidos. Os cursos com ele não se limitam à cerâmica, passam pela cultura japonesa com cerimónias de chá e confecção de Sushi, pela filosofia numa abordagem do conceito estético do “Wabi Sabi”, pela música, enfim, são dias de intenso trabalho, de aprendizagem e de convívio que estimulam o melhor que há em cada um de nós como artista e como ser humano.

- História da cerâmica japonesa
- Conceito do Wabi Sabi
- Trabalhar na roda de oleiro
- Preparar vidrados de cinza, shino, tenmoku etc
- Cozedura a lenha de alta temperatura no Sasukenei - Forno sem Fumo (36h)
- Introdução à cozedura a lenha sem fumo
- Cerimónia de chá
- Confeccionar sushi

Masakazu Kusakabe Oleiro e Construtor de Fornos
O mestre domina o fogo e a cozedura a lenha como ninguém graças a 50 anos de experiência e mesmo assim procura em cada cozedura um novo desafio. Nasceu em Miharu/Japão em 1946, onde vive e trabalha. Tem um curriculum repleto de exposições e fornos construidos em todo o mundo. Em 2005, publicou o livro “Secrets of Japanese Wood Fire Ceramic” em colaboração com o ceramista Marc Lancet.

Our friend and master ceramicist MASAKAZU KUSAKABE will be back to Cerdeira to celebrate the 5th birthday of the SASUKENEI - SMOKELESS KILN, invented and designed by him and built with the help of a fantastic group of portuguese artists and ceramicists in Cerdeira in 2015.
For the 5th year we welcome Sensei Masakazu Kusakabe  for a 10 days course, not only to immerse in ceramics and woodfiring but also in Japanese culture.
Getting to know the history of Japanese ceramics, the ash glazes, making tea bowls on the potter’s wheel or small sculptures and objects from different types of clay to finally deliver our works to the power of the wood fire is something very special.
Beside his deep knowledge of ceramics and wood firing, Japanese ceramicistst Masakazu Kusakabe is a true master in every sense. His workshops are not limited to pottery, but also include other elements of Japanese culture, like tea ceremonies, sushi making, the “Wabi Sabi” philosophy, and music. In short, workshops with Masakazu Kusakabe are full days, complete with hard work, learning and exchange, that bring out the best of each one of us, as an artist and a human being.

Masakazu Kusakabe Potter and Kiln Builder
The master dominates the fire and the art of wood firing like no one else due to almost 50 years of wood firing experience. Although in each firing he’s still looking for new challenges!
Born in Miharu/Japan in 1946 where he still lives and works, his curriculum is filled with international exhibitions and with the construction of the smokeless ceramic kiln, designed by him, all over the world!
In 2005, he published the book “Secrets of Japanese Ceramic Wood Fire” in collaboration with the ceramist Marc Lancet.

- Working in a small group (7-10 pax) 
- Tuition of 6 – 8 hours per day with a technical assistant (in english and portuguese)
