Não estou na creche, Nem mesmo no sopé, acho. Ideias estranhas começam a girar Na minha cabeça Fora do lugar! O título bastante inflacionado da exposição ressoa na tradução e duplicação das obras de arte. Trata-se de um poema de Alan Alexander Milne, mais conhecido pelas suas histórias do urso Winnie the Pooh e dos seus amigos. O poema, originalmente intitulado “Halfway Down”, foi traduzido pela Maumaus / Lumiar Cité para a exposição e invoca uma posição de não-lugar. Uma posição a meio-do-caminho, nem em cima nem em baixo. Esta evocação invade a exposição e o espaço expositivo. Domina, até certo ponto, os objetos individuais. Tonio Kröner (Alemanha, 1984) vive e trabalha em Berlim. Simon Thompson é um artista plástico inglês que vive e trabalha em Bruxelas. A exposição é uma colaboração da Maumaus / Lumiar Cité com a Associação de S. Bartolomeu dos Alemães em Lisboa e o Goethe-Institut Portugal, no âmbito da parceria para o Programa Internacional de Residências da Maumaus, e faz parte do evento multidisciplinar Fogo Island Dialogues: Atlantic Codes (Lisboa, 08.-09.11.2019). The exhibition’s rather inflated title doubles down on a trans- lation and duplication of artworks. The title is a poem by Alan Alexander Milne, who is best known for his stories of the bear Winnie the Pooh and his friends. The poem, translated by Maumaus / Lumiar Cité for the exhibition and originally titled ‘Halfway Down’, spells out a matter of fact non-place. A middle- of-the-road position, which is neither up nor down. This evocation looms large in the exhibition and Lumiar Cité, which to an extent takes over the individual objects. Simon Thompson is a British artist who lives and works in Brussels. The exhibition is a collaboration between Maumaus, Associação de S. Bartolomeu dos Alemães em Lisboa and Goethe-Institut Portugal, in partnership with the Maumaus Residency Programme, and is part of the event Fogo Island Dialogues: Atlantic Codes (Lisbon, 08.-09.11.2019).
