What does it mean to be a dj? What do you want from this? Why are we mixing two tracks, three tracks? For what purpose? What does it mean tradition in the club? Is keeping up an idea of a technical achievement according to the history of what djaying was something somewhat conservative? What is my responsibility, position, idea as a trans girl taking up space at the booth? What does music mean to me, to us, to the ones sober and high? Why do you like clean and not dirty? Why do you like technique to be invisible - the display giving you an illusion of coherence - am I coherent in that sense? Do I want to be? —— music as a slimy organism where my hands slide and mould shapes and textures without hiding my intentions - transparency, gratefulness for the ones that are constantly giving you the tracks, the material - tension and erosion: THAT’s what I do. Dakoi. é produtora residente nas Caldas da Rainha e responsável por noites de atmosferas cortantes na zona centro do país. DJ em mutação no mundo da eletrónica experimental e desconstruída (techno, gryto), a sua música procura por padrões agudos e complexos através do uso de samples de vozes cortadas e distorcidas.
Dakoi tem presença assídua nas Caldas e Lisboa, destacando-se mais recentemente nas festas Snatched (Musicbox) e no festival ANO 0, organizado pela Rádio Quântica em parceria com a Galeria Zé Dos Bois e a ADAO.
