CommUnity Solves: Fundão is a 3-day healthy competition event in the city of Fundão, Portugal, in partnership with the municipality from 15-17 November, 2019. The challenges will be presented by the Fundão municipality and their partners, themed around the following energy sectors:
Wind (Generg)
Solar (Enforce)
Biomass (FPT Energia)
Agriculture (Trigger Systems)
The event will consist of 30-40 competition participants which will be primarily IST students, as well as some people from the following: Fundão Municipality, InnoEnergy employees, energy professionals, experts and startups.
The healthy competition will be a “hackathon” style event: challenge partners will each present one challenge related to their industry sector to the participants. The participants will then create groups amongst themselves and will have one full day to formulate a solution. Participants will be encouraged to work on disruptive solutions intended to push large innovation in industry, and will be provided support from catalysts at the event as well as brainstorming and creative design tools. These results will be well-thought radical propositions to the challenge partners that may foster further project development and
collaboration.
Participants will be leaving from Lisbon Friday morning, arriving in Fundão by lunchtime. The competition will officially begin on Saturday morning at the venue and will include a one-hour Company Fair for students to network with startups, challenge partners and other participants regarding possible internships, job opportunities or other informative sessions.
