Neste sentido, têm vindo a surgir iniciativas com reivindicações a essas mesmas instituições num trabalho em rede transnacional. Em maio deste ano, por exemplo, foi lançada uma Iniciativa de Cidadania Europeia que tem como objetivo melhorar as condições jurídicas e financeiras de acesso à habitação. A conferência "Housing for all in Europe - What problems? What solutions?" é organizada pela Fundação Friedrich Ebert em Portugal, o Centro de Investigação CICS.NOVA e o Colectivo Urbanólogo, em colaboração com o Goethe-Institut Portugal. Na conferência pretende-se, através de quatro painéis, por um lado, debater o impacto das políticas da União Europeia ao acesso à habitação e, por outro, analisar diferentes formas de contestação e cooperação no contexto europeu. What solutions?”. The conference comes at a time when housing has gained particular prominence in the European landscape. In accordance with the principle of subsidiarity, the European Union has no competence to legislate on housing matters, however, it is undeniable that different measures of the various European institutions have an influence on access to housing in the Member States. In view of the above, through four panels, it is intended, on the one hand, to debate the impact of EU policies on housing access and, on the other, to analyse different forms of contestation and cooperation in the European context.
