Bjarke Ramsing had his musical upbringing in the southern countryside of Denmark. Shaping his own musical plateau from remnants of old American Folk, Blues and Roots music. For many years he toured through Europe and overseas. Making his way by playing on street corners and in bars.
Today it seems that the energetic folk songs of Bjarke have found a new fertile base in the Dutch lowlands.
Over the last 2 years Bjarke has been working closely together with Dutch musicians; Teun van Langen on double bass, Annelies Jonkers on violin and Floris Venema on drums and percussion.
The music spans wide from beautiful soft folk ballads with neat instrumental arrangements to more raw and upbeat acoustic rock compositions. His lyrics are relentlessly searching the filth of modern western life looking for some sort of beauty.
Live, whether solo or with the band, Bjarke conveys a rare and subtle edge of heartfelt sincerity, leaving spectators with a scent of something still raw, unpolished and true.
