As suas instalações partem da conjugação entre elementos construídos e pré-fabricados, com outros mecânicos e digitais, resultando muitas vezes em obras que desafiam os limites da percepção. Antoni Tàpies defendia que na arte, tal como no decorrer de um truque de magia, o espectador deve ser crente, ao ponto de ignorar que se trata apenas de uma ilusão, para que a sua experiência possa ser plena. José Taborda nas suas obras explora, de forma algo irónica, a falibilidade da nossa capacidade perceptiva, recorrendo constantemente a dois movimentos próprios da magia: o de revelar e o de esconder.” Francisco Correia, 2019 BIO: José Taborda, nasce em Lisboa(1994). Licenciado em Pintura pela Faculdade de Belas Artes Universidade de Lisboa, estuda também Fine Arts na Bauhaus Universität em Weimar, Alemanha. Vencedor do prémio A.J. Fundação Millennium BCP - Carpe Diem (2018), vencedor do prémio de escultura D.Fernando II (2018), premiado com o Bauhaus Essentials Prize( 2017), participa na residência Artística do Atelier Solar em Madrid (2018). His installations start from the combination of built and prefabricated elements, with other mechanical and digital elements, often resulting in works that defy the limits of perception. Antoni Tàpies argued that in art, as in the course of a magic trick, the viewer must be a believer, to the point of ignoring that it is only an illusion, so that his experience can be full. José Taborda in his works explores, in a somewhat ironic way, the fallibility of our perceptive capacity, constantly resorting to two movements proper to magic: that of revealing and that of hiding. ” BIO: José Taborda, born in Lisbon (1994). Graduated in Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts University of Lisbon, he also studies Fine Arts at Bauhaus Universität in Weimar, Germany. He won the A.J. Millennium BCP Foundation - Carpe Diem Foundation (2018), the D.Fernando II Sculpture Award (2018) and the Bauhaus Essentials Prize (2017). He participates in the Atelier Solar Artistic Residence in Madrid (2018).
