KRYSTAL KLEAR Com o gigantesco hit "Neutron Dance", editado no ano passado pelo selo Running Back, de Gerd Janson, Krystal Klear lançou-se ao mainstream da música de dança. A fórmula ganhadora é simples: melodias fáceis de memorizar, caixas de ritmos clássicas e produção a sonhar com New Order dos 80s que acaba a ombrear com os momentos mais celebrados de um Tiga na sua fase electrohouse. O irlandês Dec Lennon é, no entanto, mais do que apenas um fenómeno de popularidade; tem feito um percurso underground rico e intimamente ligado à house music de cariz mais musical que, desde a sua estreia em 2010, tem lançado em selos fortes como a All City, a MadTech de Kerri Chandler, a Eglo de Floating Points ou a sua própria editora Cold Tonic. BABA STILTZ DJ, produtor, cantor e modelo (!), Baba Stiltz é aquilo a que se poderia chamar um homem da Renascença - se os homens da Renascença fossem bem parecidos, suecos e menos investidos em actividades aborrecidas como inventar o desenho de perspectiva ou o telescópio. Estrela brilhante de uma constelação de talentos de Estocolmo que incluem Samo DJ e Axel Boman, e que orbita em torno de selos como a Born Free ou a Studio Barnhus, Baba Stiltz destaca-se não só pela maneira como faz o house minimalista e sofisticado parecer coisa fácil mas também por ocasionalmente deixar as estruturas rígidas compositivas de lado para se atirar à canção e à experimentação livre. Umas vezes lembra-nos de Villalobos, noutras é um crooner de guitarra ao ombro - em todas tem cabelo impecável. MAX ABYSMAL Por onde começar quando queremos falar de Max Abysmal e da forma como, chegado de Sydney na Austrália, conseguiu rapidamente arrebatar o underground holandês? Pela sua residência no De School, que é um dos melhores clubes europeus? Ou pela sua aproximação à família Dekmantel, festival onde já tocou várias vezes, incluíndo no Selectors em Tisno? Talvez pela sua celebrada participação na Red Light Radio, não? Enfim, Max, fez tudo certo e tornou-se num dos nomes mais consistentes de uma nova geração de djs sediados na Holanda. Consistentes são, também, os seus sets que, com passada decidida, nos levam pacientemente de ritmos lentos e oníricos para new beat intenso e carnal, enquanto as suas produções, exploram o mesmo ritmo lento de alta intensidade para selos como a Kalahari Oyster Cult e a Safe Trip de Young Marco. CONHECIDO JOÃO Conhecido João é, sem dúvida, um rosto bem familiar dos clubbers lisboetas menos distraídos; há vários anos que nos oferece alguma da melhor música de dança em muitas cabines da cidade (e não só), tendo começado com o pseudónimo Smuggla no já findo colectivo Warface, cujas festas documentaram a passagem do dubstep aos seus vários sucedâneos estilísticos, e aprimorado as suas skills em residências como a Noite Suruba e outras. Com Terzi e Lieben fundou a Extended Records (e sua subsidiária Discos Extendes) com a missão de editar a dance music de uma nova geração emergente, cujo catálogo inclui os primeiros trabalhos de artistas como Tsuri, Caroline Lethô ou Emauz. Chegado a 2019, após muitas horas de voo, João é um DJ com bagagem séria; versado no melhor disco, funk e house e com uma intuição mortal para nos manter na pista. SAVANT FAIR Produtor barra na criação de house atmosférico que apela ao sentimento, António Moura tem mostrado trabalho bom em editoras como a berlinense Out of Order ou as portuguesas Extended Records e Alienação. Algumas coordenadas mais óbvias aqui são o lo-fi house aveludado de DJ Seinfeld ou a profundidade penetrante de Route 8, transcendidas com uma honestidade e romantismo muito próprios de Savant Fair e da forma livre como vive a descoberta musical. Para o seu DJing passa exactamente essa relação íntima com os discos, cruzando hip hop, funk, disco, house e outras músicas quentes. No próximo dia 26 junta-se a Max Abysmal para encher o bar de som e verdade. Sometimes he reminds us of Villalobos, others of a crooner with a guitar on his shoulder - on all of them he has impeccable hair. MAX ABYSMAL Where should we start when talking about Max Abysmal and how promptly he conquered the dutch underground scene coming from Sydney, Australia? By mentioning his residency at De School, one the best clubs in Europe? Or his proximity to the Dekmantel family, a festival he's played at various times, including at Selectors, in Tisno? Maybe his celebrated slot at Red Light Radio? Anyway, Max did everything right and became one of the most consistent djs in a new wave of artists based in the Netherlands. Consistent are also his dj sets, taking us from slow, dreamy rhythms to intense and carnal new beat with a determined pace, while his productions explore the same high intensity slow beats for labels such as Kalahari Oyster Cult and Young Marco's Safe Trip. CONHECIDO JOÃO Conhecido João is undoubtedly a very familiar face for discerning clubbers in Lisbon; for several years he's been offering some of the best dance music behind booths across town, having started with the alias Smuggla as part of the now defunct Warface collective, whose parties documented dubstep's shift towards various stylistic iterations, further honing his dj skills in dj residencies like Noite Suruba and others. Together with Terzi and Lieben he started Extended Records (and its subsidiary Discos Extendes) aiming to release dance music from an emerging new wave of producers, including the debut of artists such as Tsuri, Caroline Lethô and Emauz. Come 2019, João is a DJ with serious depth; well versed in the best disco, funk and house music, and with a deadly intuition for keeping us in the dancefloor. SAVANT FAIR A skilled producer in creating atmospheric house music with an emotional edge, António Moura has shown great work in labels such as Berlin's own Out Of Order or the portuguese Extended Records and Alienação. Some of the more obvious reference points here are the silky lo-fi house of DJ Seinfeld or the penetrating depth of Route 8, both transcended with an honestly and romanticism that are very particular to Savant Fair and his free-spirited way of discovering music. It's this same intimate relationship with records that translates to his DJing, blending hip hop, funk, disco, house and other hot musics together. Next July the 26th he'll join Max Abysmal to fill the Lux bar with sound and truth.
