One of the best fado singers of today Maja Milinković is launching her new album “Fadolinka” on June 6, 21h at Auditório Camões in Lisbon.
Maja will be taking the audience on a musical voyage through the heart of Lusitania and the Balkans in a filigree interpretation conveyed by her charismatic voice.
“Fadolinka” is a natural title for an album that brings together fado and sevdalinka. The two musical genres have a lot in common: intensity, emotional charge, melancholy and a poetic structure of the lyrics. Sevdalinka is like fado an urban song that stems from a feeling called “sevdah”, whose translation can be found in the Portuguese concept of “saudade”.
“Fadolinka” is a homage to atemporal values, wonderfully blending two rich cultures.
