Luis Acosta (NL) Workshop Design de Joalharia Modular Enquanto designer de joalharia, Luis Acosta está particularmente interessado na forma. Uma vez encontrada uma forma (pode ser um “L” ou um “Z”, um cubo, etc) ele aumenta-a ou repete-a, explorando as imensas possibilidades dessa forma como base para criar um design modular. Neste workshop os participantes irão usar papel para explorar formas que poderão depois transportar para as suas áreas de trabalho e materiais de eleição (metal, cerâmica, tecido, borracha, etc). A ideia principal consiste em conseguir construir um sistema a partir de formas simples, que sirva de base para a criação de uma peça de joalharia. Introduz-se assim o conceito de módulo e através da sua repetição cada participante poderá criar um protótipo. Formado em 1988 pelo departamento têxtil da Gerrit Rietveld Academy em Amsterdão, participou em várias exposições colectivas e individuais na Europa, Argentina, EUA, Japão e Coreia do Sul. É possível encontrar vários dos seus trabalhos em Museus e colecções privadas pelo mundo. É curador e foi júri em várias exposições em Espanha e Holanda. Desenha e cria tapeçarias, tecidos, acessórios de moda em diversos materiais e jóias em papel. Once a form is found, he enlarges or repeats it, then he concentrates on using the possibilities of that form as a basis to develop a modular design. In this workshop you will design with paper to study what you will be able to transfer to your own discipline and materials (metal, ceramic, textile, rubber, etc). The main idea is to be able to build a system from simple shapes, which serves as the basis for the creation of a piece of jewelry. This introduces the concept of module and through its repetition each participant can create a prototype. He has participated in group and individual exhibitions in most of European countries, Argentina, USA, Japan and South Korea. His works are te be found in the Museum of Arts and Design (New York, USA), Costum Museum (Buenos Aires, RA), CODA Museum (Apeldoorn, NL), Centre of Fine Arts (Utrecht, NL), Textilemuseum (Tilburg, NL) and in private collections in Argentina, Finland, India, Norway, Spain, Venezuela, United States and in the Netherlands He has published several articles among which are those dealing with its own method of textile design in the Dutch magazine Textiel Plus and Spanish Oficio+arte. He was correspondent of the magazine Arte Facto and Tramemos textiles, Spanish and Argentina respectively. Translated Dutch to Spanish the book Si'ira (woven belt of the Wayuu Indians) by Mirja Wark. He has curated and has served on the jury of several exhibitions in Spain and Netherlands.
