Belgais Open Air Summer Festival
Este Verão inauguramos o Festival ao Ar Livre de Belgais, onde vamos apresentar quatro temas diferentes ao longo de quatro fins de semana de Junho a Setembro. (Info below)
It is the sweetness, the calm and the peaceful spirituality of the summer evenings, as Berlioz did with his splendid Summer Nights of 1841, that Belgais will celebrate in music. In the months of June, July, August and September 2019, the house will host outdoor concerts, evoking a night and dreamlike universe but also the deep feeling of nature, without which there is no spiritual elevation. PROGRAM
(Jun 14-15) Summer Festival Pt. I - “Sonata Ao Luar”
-Dedicated to the mysteries of the night and the need for knowledge from the contemplation of the stars: nocturnal pieces of Field, Chopin, Liszt or Fauré, but also works evoking the Zodiac cycle, like Stockhausen's Tierkreis, will draw the picture of a kind of cosmic dream.
(Jul 19-20) Summer Festival Pt. II - “O Espírito do Tempo”
-It will try to translate the conversion of bodily sensations into inner and spiritual mediation. The calm of the summer nights, penetrating the rhythms of the body, favors progressive detachment and elevation, as will be encouraged by pieces by Mompou, Arvo Pärt, Kurtag or Bach.
(Aug 17-18) Summer Festival Pt. III - “Sonho de uma Noite de Verão”
-Puts its footsteps in those of Felix Mendelssohn, who had borrowed, for his stage music of 1827, the title from Shakespeare: A Midsummer Night's Dream.
(Sep 14-15) Summer Festival Pt. IV - “Canto da Terra”
-Is a celebration of the voice: it calls on a men's choir and a repertoire of vocal pieces (from Grieg, Mendelssohn, Mahler) to evoke the anchoring of any sensitive and spiritual perception in the harmony of the human body with the nourishing nature.
