ANETHA

As more and more fans are realizing, the Parisian techno scene leaves nothing to be desired, in terms of talent and efervescence, to the one happening a few hundred kilometers further east in another certain European capital. The Blocaus parties (nowadays also a record label), where Anetha has been resident for some years, are one of the inescapable references in the midst of the bustle, with our guest of this evening hosting an a true phone book of big names in the genre, from DVS1 to Function, from Oscar Mulero to Dasha Rush. This habit of sharing the booth with so many luminaries, has made Anetha one of the safest bets on the European circuit, for fans of a sound that is fast and impactful, but also given to well thought-out textures and melodies full of sensitivity. Look for example at 'Acid Train', one of the biggest tracks of techno of 2017, in order to understand what we mean. Get ready for Anetha's barbed-wire kisses.

AURORA HALAL & RELAXER

The dazzling progression of Aurora Halal's visibility in the last couple of years has revealed one of the most personalized artists in the modern electronic scene, operating brilliantly at the crossroads between techno and psychedelic and futuristic experimentalism. Some of the first steps of this rise came in Daniel Martin-McCormick's Lovers Rock label half a decade ago, integrating the duo Ital & Halal, equal parts fans of raves in tucked-away shacks and Tangerine Dream. Well, in 2016, Daniel shelved the name Ital, and revealed himself as the tortuous brain behind the Relaxer project, responsible for 5 notable EPs of trippy techno, hallucinated and hazy techno, also full of an increasingly rare personality. Aurora and Daniel continue to make music together as Halal & Relaxer, and from the mix of these two creators of assured sonic aesthetics, come prodigies of subterranean sound, with smeared beats, centrifugal melodies and dissolved synthesizers. Precision and distension in perfect balance, in Halal & Relaxer’s parallel dimension.

BAWRUT

Bawrut, real name Borut Viola, is an italian living in Madrid that, in 2016, saw his then debut record 'Ciquita', released by the publication Ransom Note, become an underground hit at the hands of inumerous djs of the global pantheon. The formula seems deceivingly simple; deadly rhythms and a languid bassline of acid inspirations, a virulent vocal and the relaxed attitude of someone who doesn't take himself too seriously - unless the subject is hip-shaking. Since then Bawrut has grown his catalogue of light-hearted acid bombs both through the label that launched him but also via imprints such as Hard First and Pets Recordings, run by Catz N' Dogz. As a DJ he expands his range of influences to territories like electro and italo discos and has been visiting great stages and dj booths such as those of Sónar BCN, Nuites Sonores or Farr Festival, soon also bringing his voodoo to Lisbon on March 15th, at Lux's middle floor.

NØRBAK

It is comforting to know that an artist capable of generating a black hole with his music is also capable of showing us the light that seeks to escape it. This way we are free to lose ourselves on the dance floor, because we trust who is in the booth, to give us the coordinates for our own self-discovery. So act the sound artifacts of dance that Artur Moreira, the man behind the epithet Nørbak, produces with increasing notoriety. It is already possible to state that the youngster from Amarante is ready to follow the trail of Lewis Fautzi as one of the great names of portuguese techno, as we see him add appearances in labels with increasing relevance, like the Fautzi´s own Faut Section , Oscar Mulero's Warm Up and Svreca's Semantica. Even in the full vertigo of the darkest corner of the floor, we can say with certainty, have no fear, Nørbak is here.

DIOGO & MORENO ÁCIDO

When two or more DJs play together - or, using clubbing jargon, they go back-to-back - an unrepeatable alchemy can be created. After all, the dance that matters most is done communally - and to replicate this togetherness behind the booth, with two minds in a dialogue on emotion and movement in order to reach a balanced compromise and to cover ground that alone they might not explore, is the classic pinnacle of the sense of union that defines dance music.

Diogo and Moreno Acido will debut in this format in our sound system - both prolific producers and disc jockeys, both based in Lisbon, both inspired by the great tree of black music and everything that emerged from it in the last half-century. To the organic flow of soul, hip hop or funk, they add the most modern mutations of electronic music - electro or percussive techno, inventive breaks or effusive house, everything fits in the bag, as this duo is moved by sonic curiosity. All the great things they have in common - and they're plenty - will be the catalyst for this encounter, and the differences will adorn it with the unexpected - and that makes us dream.
