A label Paraíso está de volta à Disco do Lux com Alex Santos aka Urban Dreams (90s school set), Caroline Lethô live e Ed Isar. Alex Santos aka Urban Dreams Podemos dizê-lo sem qualquer hipérbole: Alexandre Santos é uma das lendas da dance music portuguesa e fez parte do panteão original que ajudou a colocar uma ainda jovem Kaos Records no mapa. Estreou-se em 1994 como Urban Dreams com um dos melhores discos de house e trance feitos por cá - "An Urban Dream Of Love", com o perfeito "Tonight" no lado B. Noutro momento seminal marcou a nossa pop à frente da banda Os Lunáticos com o ubíquo mas irredimível "Estou Na Lua", inaugurando assim a divisão pop da Kaos Records, de nome Fuga - um raro desvio num percurso generoso de criação underground. Já nos anos 2000, com Luís Leite, cria o projecto Delicado e oferece-nos house de contornos jazzísticos com "The Sound of Fashion" e ainda neste período aproxima-se do londrino Ben Watt e da sua Buzzin' Fly, onde acabaria por editar regularmente como Rodamaal num retorno ao deep house mais cerebral. A dominação global surge no entanto poucos anos depois com "Lose Control" - um hit inescapável de 2006 que rodou nos sets de djs-chave como Trevor Jackson ou Damian Lazarus, mais uma vez fruto de uma colaboração com Luís Leite. No próximo dia 7 estreia-se no Lux chamando-nos a olhar mais de perto e celebrar um dos percursos mais marcantes da nossa electrónica. Caroline Lethô live Um nome incontornável do mosaico Lisboeta de criadores de som, Caroline Lethô tem trabalhado em várias frentes nos últimos anos. Por um lado, tem vindo a lançar a sua própria música refrescante e expansiva, por outro, partilha alguma da música que mais fala consigo (e com a pista de dança) a partir de algumas das cabines mais respeitadas do país e também pela europa fora. Fá-lo com um comando firme das linguagens que lhe interessa expressar, e tem um dom especial para manter a energia de uma sala num ponto hipnótico e explosivo em doses iguais. Por outro lado, faz um importante trabalho de divulgação sónica com o seu colectivo Intera e com o seu programa na Rádio Quântica: convidando para ambos alguns dos artistas mais interessantes da nova geração. Regressa ao Lux Frágil após várias visitas absolutamente explosivas, desta vez com a família Paraíso e em formato live act pela primeira vez na nave-mãe de Santa Apolónia: uma estreia que antecipamos ser cheia de imaginação, intenção e emoção. É História, não é para perder. Ed Isar Edouard Isar é uma das vozes mais activas e interessantes da nova dance scene francesa; as suas já icónicas festas Voodoo Rave tiveram um papel importantíssimo ao realinhar o interesse de uma nova geração de clubbers parisienses com o ethos da rave original através de line-ups que incluem lendas como Mark Archer (Altern 8), Jerome Hill ou Frank De Wulf. A sua actividade extende-se também ao trabalho com editoras, tanto como parte integrante da editora Mental Groove e da sua subsidiária Musique Pour La Danse, como também enquanto patrão da recentemente fundada Remember 430. É um dos estudiosos mais empenhados e descomplexados que conhecemos no que toca à música electrónica, com um conhecimento enciclopédico que vai do goa trance ao dub, passando também pelo house, os breaks e o hardcore techno. Há no entanto uma área de estudo que preza como poucas outras: a música de dança portuguesa dos anos 90. Textos: Inês Coutinho e Marco Rodrigues --- ENGLISH --- Alex Santos aka Urban Dreams We can say it without hyperbole: Alexandre Santos is one of the Portugal's dance music legends and was a part of the original pantheon of artists that helped put Kaos Records on the map when it was still a fledgling young label. He debuted as Urban Dreams in 1994 with arguably one of our best house and trance records ever made - "An Urban Dream Of Love", with the flawless "Tonight" on the B-side. In another seminal moment, he left a mark on pop music as part of the band Os Lunáticos, with the ubiquitous but irredeemable "Estou Na Lua", hence kickstarting Kaos Records' then new pop division, Fuga - a rare detour on an otherwise generous path in underground music creation. At the start of the 2000s, together with Luís Leite, Alex Santos starts Delicado, serving us the jazzistic house sound of "The Sound Of Fashion". Soon after, he establishes a close partnership with londoner Ben Watt and his Buzzin' Fly, a label that would eventually become a home to his more cerebral deep house records as Rodamaal. Global domination though comes a few years later with "Lose Control" - an inescapable 2006 hit that was also a collab with Luís Leite and got featured heavily in the sets of key djs such as Trevor Jackson and Damian Lazarus. March 7th will mark his debut at Lux and will be an opportunity to celebrate and probe deeper into one of the most important contributions in portuguese electronic music. Caroline Lethô live An inescapable name in Lisbon's mosaic of sound creators, Caroline Lethô has been working on many fronts over the past few years. On one hand, she's been releasing her own refreshing, expansive music, and has been sharing some of the music that speaks to her the most (and with the dancefloor) from some of the most respected DJ booths in the country and across Europe. She does it with a firm grip on the languages she chooses to express, and shows a special gift of keeping the energy in a rom at a point that is equally hypnotic and explosive. On the other hand, she does an important work of sonic divulgation with her colelective Intera and her show on Rádio Quântica: inviting some of the most interesting artists of the new generation to participate in both. She returns to Lux Frágil after many absolutely explosive visits, this time with the Paraíso family and for the first time in the live act format in the Santa Apolónia mothership. A live debut that we anticipate to be filled with imagination, intention and emotion. It's History, it's not to be missed. Ed Isar Edouard Isar is one of the most active and interesting voices in the new French dance scene; his now iconic parties Voodoo Rave have had an important role in shifting the focus of a new generation of parisian clubbers towards the original ethos of rave culture by featuring legends such as Mark Archer (Altern 8), Jerome Hill or Frank De Wulf in the line-ups. His activity also extends to label work, both as part of Mental Groove Records (and its subsidiary Musique Pour La Danse) and as the boss of the recently founded Remember 430 imprint. He's one of the most commited and free-spirited students of electronic music we know, with an encyclopedic knowledge that ranges from goa trance to dub, including house music, breaks and hardcore techno. There's one area of stufy though that Ed Isar loves like few others: that's portuguese dance music from the 90s.
