PT O termo "cínico" deriva do grego antigo κυνικός "Kynikos", a forma adjetiva de "Kynon", que significa cão. O cão, tido como subespécie do lobo e do coiote, é o mais antigo animal domesticado pelo homem (período final da última era glacial). Dócil, inteligente, fiel e protetor, é o melhor amigo do homem e aceita o seu dono como chefe da matilha. Olha para o seu dono com devoção, como se de um Deus se tratasse. O vínculo emocional é mútuo e inegável. Talvez por isso assuma atributos mentais, expressões faciais e posturas corporais semelhantes aos de um ser humano. Ao longo dos tempos integrou exércitos, foi guardião, caçador, pastor, guia e considerado sagrado para algumas culturas. De acordo com a teoria evolucionista de Darwin, também os cães foram sujeitos a processos de seleção natural que ditaram a sobrevivência e a continuidade da espécie pelos mais aptos; física, mental e comportamentalmente, eventualmente até ao nível da auto-consciência. Nesta obra somos confrontados com possíveis arquétipos de comportamento. Por um lado, quem brinca com o mundo, ignorando-o; por outro, o sentido crítico relativo à falta de valores sociais. Estes modelos alternam e sobrepõem-se não se excluindo mutuamente. A cada momento, é possível incorporar e viver cada um deles. A profundidade da consciência é encontrada no olhar puro de quem "VÊ"! Questões existenciais e intemporais emergem da tensão dinâmica criada entre os vários elementos que compõem a obra. Nesta instalação, caminhamos entre a consciência e a inconsciência, o ego e o eco, os instintos básicos e a responsabilidade social. Qual o caminho? Viver em comunhão com as leis da natureza de forma livre e independente ou seguir as convenções sociais desequilibradas? Os detalhes de cada elemento conduzem-nos para mais perguntas em vez de respostas. Inevitavelmente, somos encaminhados para uma reflexão sobre o nosso próprio posicionamento face à sociedade. The emotional bond is mutual and undeniable. Perhaps for this reason, assumes mental attributes, facial expressions and body postures similar to those of a human being. Throughout the ages he has integrated armies, was a guardian, hunter, shepherd, guide and considered sacred to some cultures. According to Darwin's evolutionary theory, dogs were also subjected to processes of natural selection that dictated the survival and continuity of the species to the fittest; physically, mentally and behaviorally, eventually to the level of self-awareness. In this artwork we are confronted with possible archetypes of behavior. On the one hand, who plays with the world, ignoring it; on the other hand, the critical sense regarding the lack of social values. These models alternate and overlap without being mutually excluded. At every moment, it is possible to incorporate and live each one of them. The depth of consciousness is found in the pure gaze of those who "SEE"! Existential and timeless questions emerge from the dynamic tension created between the various elements that make up the artwork In this installation, we walk between consciousness and unconsciousness, ego and echo, basic instincts and social responsibility. Which way? Living in communion with the laws of nature in a free and independent way or following unbalanced social conventions? The details of each element lead us to more questions rather than answers. Inevitably, we are guided to a reflection on our own positioning towards society.
