Bufiman Bufiman é um dos vários pseudónimos de Jan Schulte - Music; produtor reconhecido e DJ residente do respeitado covil de melómanos Salon Des Amateurs, em Dusseldorf. Ali, tem a liberdade para cruzar várias latitudes e climas; raridades tropicais com minimalismos gélidos, máquinas de ritmo e síncopes soltas. Tudo isto cabe na política musical livre deste clube que é casa-mãe de outros DJs quentes como Lena Wilikens ou Vladimir Ivkovic. Os lançamentos de Jan por selos como a Safe Trip de Young Marco (como Wolf Muller), Versatile ou Dekmantel reforçam essa visão de cruzamento das electrónicas frias e arrojadas da sua cidade natal com as músicas quentes do grande Sul. Na sua entrevista para o website brasileiro Alataj, quando questionado sobre o que a música representa na sua vida, Schulte termina dizendo que esta é "um cosmos de alegria e emoções sem fim" - no próximo dia 18 traz esta mesma entrega a Lisboa e fará da pista do Lux simulacro da sua visão expansiva da música. Uma técnica certeira e muito magnetismo, colocados ao serviço de uma selecção livre e arrojada, levaram os corpos e mentes por uma viagem funk, house e UK garage repleta de emoção soul. Mas apesar de ter sido um momento-charneira para o seu djing, Carista era já um segredo cada vez menos bem guardado em Amsterdão; desde 2015 que faz o seu próprio show na enorme Red Light Radio, onde fez chegar a qualidade das suas selecções a ouvidos ilustres como os de Benji B, Gilles Peterson ou Fatima Yamaha, e toca frequentemente num dos clubes europeus do momento, o De School. Fora da Holanda, o seu calendário cresce a ritmo rápido e foi também convidada para um slot regular na já icónica rádio londrina NTS. No dia 18 é a vez do Lux, onde se estreia no bar para nos guiar sem reservas por picos de emoção e ritmos apontados à anca. Manycure Tiago De Castro é Manycure - jovem produtor e DJ português prometido às artes negras do 4/4 mais hipnótico e arrastado. Arpegios melódicos de panorâmica larga sobre ritmos pacientes de máquina de ritmos: é esta a base do voodoo de Tiago quando produz para selos como a editora holandesa Karakter ou a berlinense KODX. Influências new beat ou electro são refinadas por uma abordagem mais moderna que por vezes parece referenciar Red Axes ou alguma da produção de Barnt na Cómeme. Há também aqui um toque mais ritualista que invoca música de dança progressiva ou até coisas do início da trance, e que tornará a pista do Lux mais uma vez num cenário de épicos. E foi mesmo assim que tudo começou para o nosso (de mais maneiras do que uma - já que faz parte da família Lux e da família Quântica) Varela. But besides this being a decisive moment for her DJ career, Carista was already becoming a poorly kept secret in Amsterdam; she's been doing her show on the huge Red Light Radio since 2015, through which the quality of her selections reached notorious ears such as the ones from Benji B, Gilles Peterson or Fatima Yamaha, and she frequently plays at one of Europes clubs-du-jour, De School. Outside of Holland, her DJ calendar is growing rapidly and she was also recently invited by London's already iconic radio station NTS for a regular slot. On the 18th it's Lux' turn, where Carista will be debuting at the bar to guide us through emotional peaks and rhythms squarely aimed at the hips - no holds barred. Tiago De Castro is Manycure - a young portuguese producer and DJ devoted to the black art of creating the most hypnotic and draggy 4/4 beats around. Wide panoramic melodic arpeggios over patient drum-machine rhythms; this is the base for Tiago's voodoo when he produces for labels such as the dutch Karakter or Berlin's own KODX. New beat or electro influences come through refined by a more modern approach that seems to reference Red Axes or some of Barnt's productions on Cómeme. There's also a more ritualistic touch that harkens back to progressive dance music or even early trance efforts - one will, once again, turn the dancefloor at Lux into a setting fit for epics. If there's one thing we can promise you, it's that it's in the actual dance floor that one learns the most about DJing. And that's precisely how everything started for our (in more ways than one - since he is part of both the Lux and Quântica families) Varela. He witnessed DJ and live sets by some of the best in the world, through his work with Lux but also handpicked nights, festivals and podcasts, as good taste has always been on his side. He has thus developed a super-sharp ear that, together with a sensitivity tuned in to the best textures, melodies and beats, were the key to start building his own sets, where the most authentic house - pioneering or avant-garde - can be heard embraced to cold wave, boogie, italo or some of the most imaginative techno. Think Dark Entries but also Strictly Rhythm, in a meeting that is immune to trends but completely modern.
