Os Natais passam-se em casa. Cá em casa. É já uma tradição aqui no Lux: depois de despachada a família – ou ignorada a quadra! -, nada melhor do que reclamar a festa à nossa maneira. Este ano o Natal é com Dr. Rubinstein b2b Roi Perez, Dexter, Ze Pedro Moura & Mário Valente DJ. Berlim, a cidade onde escolheram viver, e porventura a meca europeia do techno, une-os. Mas não é só a capital alemã que une estes dois selectors irrequietos e mordazes: ambos sabem levar uma pista de dança a picos incríveis de energia sem recorrer a armas fáceis de antecipar. Dr Rubinstein recorre a techno, sim, mas também a acid e uma pitada de trance, sempre numa pontuação vibracional que rebenta com qualquer escala. Roi Perez - inspirado pelas queer raves que frequentou enquanto teenager - aponta para a dança comunal com achados novos e velhos, que codificam tão facilmente os ritmos sincopados dos breaks ou electro como linguagens 4/4 intrigantes e implacáveis. Juntos em formato back to back, como já o fizeram na semana pride de Berlim, talvez o melhor fim-de-semana do ano no Berghain, entram numa espiral positiva, transformando-se num novo DJ, cujo ADN abraça tudo o que mencionámos atrás e ainda qualquer coisa inominável, energética, invisível possível apenas de testemunhar porque se manifesta nos nossos corpos e nas nossas almas de uma maneira tão real. Podemos tentar arranjar palavras que tentem antecipar este set, mas não vão chegar. Tentemos: hipnótico, caleidoscópico, frenético, profundo, luminoso, psicadélico até. Vamos. De mãos dadas. Dr Rubinstein uses techno, yes, but also acid and a dash of trance, always on a vibrational score so high it's unmeasurable. Roi Perez - inspired by the queer raves he attended as a teenager - points to the communal dance with new and old finds that easily encode the syncopated rhythms of breaks and electro as well as intriguing and relentless 4/4 languages. Together in back-to-back format, as they did in the Berlin pride week, perhaps the year's best weekend at Berghain, they enter a positive spiral, transforming into a new DJ whose DNA embraces everything we mentioned above plus something unnamed, energetic, invisible - possible to witness only because it manifests itself in our bodies and in our souls in such a real way.
