Two guitars and drums only. Later in 2010 Pedro Bastos took the bassist place. In 2013 JUSEPH came out with their first official record. Produced, mixed and mastered by Makoto Yagyu, assisted by Fabio Jevelim, at Black Sheep Studios. Self-released in September 2013, "Novae" is a five track EP that shows the route of the band since the inception to that current stage. Ready to road the band begins a regular series of concerts in late 2013 that only stops at the end of 2014. During that time JUSEPH shared gigs with Catacombe, Process of Guilt, Katabatic, Mother Abyss, Memoirs of a Secret Empire, Besta, Englemaker, I Am a Curse, Kadavar, among others. 2015 is a year of change, Rafael Soares has been added to the equation as third guitar and synths, an important piece in the composition of the next record. In the same year, JUSEPH played at Amplifest (Converge, Amenra, Alter of Plagues, Metz, … ) for a sound visual experience along MOASE (Memoirs of a Secret Empire). On September 2016 JUSEPH entered again on studio for the recording of their debut album at CAOS Armado Studios. Produced, mixed and mastered by Daniel Valente. Heavy riffs and bright melodies, “Óreida” is a true piece of JUSEPH post-metal nature extended through 8 deep instrumental tracks. Will be release on vinyl by Wooaaargh (DE), Regulator Records (PT) and Raging Planet (PT), in February 2019. Massive delays and massive distortions, JUSEPH is a post-rock-metal band with steroids. • OHXALÁ (Slow Tecnho / Macumbeats) Ohxalá is the musical project of Maria & Luis who live in Porto, Portugal but already have their tracks being part of several mixtapes around the world within the growing wave of ethnobeats. In 2017 they released their debut EP “O Futuro do Passado” in Casa Caos (BR), Dona Cuíca EP on Cosmic Awakenings (US) and more recently the Sereias do Planeta Vermelho Ep on Ready Mix Records (CA) with remixes from acclaimed producers such as M. Rux, Lemurian, Dandara, Discoshaman, Intiche, MiRET, Nillo & Maracuyá, Thommie G and Rodrigo Gallardo. This duo is eager to explore a thematic cut with a focus on Portuguese, Brazilian and African culture, inspired by the strong rhythmic foundation of popular and ancient music. Their productions are full of field recordings and booming bass lines, they did not skimp on the effort to incorporate tradicional ethnic folk elements into contemporary electronic music and that makes this project a unique musical experience. • PIX.L (Minimal Drum'n'Bass / Dubstep) PIX.L (b. 1988) is Martim Santos, DJ and founder of the Counterpoint project. Inspired by his friends, but mostly his brother, he took a leap into the sonic vortex of the "Amen Break", sparkling an unquestionable passion for immersing himself in music. His wide variety of influences (Hip-Hop, Rock, Soul, Classical, Jazz, among others) result in an eclectic approach to the deeper sounds of Drum & Bass, which are carefully crafted according to dancefloor vibes, and with the audience as main concern. Since he started to be directly involved with this music, he gradually found new ways of working with it. His 10 years behind the decks have enabled him to build a track record which includes gigs in Switzerland, Spain, and all over Portugal, where he had the chance to share the cabin with some of the main tastemakers within the genre, and also some of the most influential Portuguese artists. In 2010 he was distinguished at the Backstage DNB Awards, winning the Best Upcoming DJ category. His insatiable quest for non-evolution led him a step forward, and it was when he founded Counterpoint Recordings that he found his natural habitat. Working with artists on the development and promotion of music releases, allows for a crucial creative output, through which he carefully curates the label’s catalogue, and the whole concept behind the brand.
