Two movies about migration, chosen with the goal of creating awareness and promoting discussions on the current humanitarian crisis in the Mediterranean Sea and the situation of refugees in Portugal. 3/12 [19h] Dinner [20h30] Screening of "Astral" by Jordi Évole [22h15] Talk about the humanitarian crisis in the Mediterranean + HuBB members share their sea rescue experiences (talk and subtitles of the film in english) Astral, a 30-meter sailboat built in the 1970s, had always been used as a luxury pleasure boat, until its owner gave it to the NGO Proactiva Open Arms. Astral became a surveillance and rescue boat and set sail for the coast of Libya to carry out its first rescue mission. Proactiva Open Arms is a non-profit, non-governmental organization whose main mission is to rescue the thousands of people in distress in the Aegean Sea and the Central Mediterranean, who are trying to reach Europe, fleeing from war, persecution or poverty. - Fundraising for Proactiva Open Arms' rescue missions. 17/12 | 19h - 23h "My Kaaba is HUMAN" (short film) by Sinem Taş + introduction by the film director + talk about the integration of refugees in Portugal (names to be confirmed) Kaaba is the heart of the most sacred mosque in Mecca and “My Kaaba is HUMAN” is the maxim of Alevism and Bektashism, philosophies that place humanity at the center of all values. But what remains of the humanity of over a million refugees and migrants who since 2014 have risked or lost their lives trying to reach Europe by boat? This documentary, by putting us face to face with six refugees in Portugal, forces this question on us. - Let’s bring a warmer winter to the refugees living in shelter centers in Portugal. Dois filmes sobre migração, escolhidos com o objectivo de sensibilizar e promover discussões sobre a actual crise humanitária no Mar Mediterrâneo e a situação dos refugiados em Portugal. 3/12 [19h] Jantar [20h30] Projecção do filme "Astral" de Jordi Évole [22h15] Conversa sobre a actual crise humanitária no Mar Mediterrâneo + membros do colectivo HuBB partilham as suas experiências em operações de resgate marítimo (filme em espanhol com legendas em inglês / conversa em inglês) O Astral, um veleiro de 30m construído nos anos 70, sempre foi usado como barco de luxo e lazer, até o seu proprietário o ter doado à ONG Proactiva Open Arms. O Astral tornou-se então um barco de vigilância e resgate marítimo e partiu para a costa da Líbia para realizar sua primeira missão de resgate. Mas o que é feito da humanidade quando, desde 2014, mais de um milhão de refugiados e migrantes arriscam ou perdem as suas vidas para tentar chegar à Europa de barco? Através do testemunho de seis refugiados em Portugal, este documentário obriga-nos a enfrentar esta questão. - Vamos trazer um inverno mais quente aos refugiados que vivem em centros de acolhimento em Portugal.
