Sexta noite 'Life Changing, Probably' com MARCEL DETTMANN, Freddy K e Dexter na Disco; SKATEBÅRD e CVLT no Bar. Com a Carlsberg. MARCEL DETTMANN Quando concebemos a ideia das noites “Life Changing, Probably”, é claro que o desejo era de que as mesmas fossem efectivamente capazes de mudar vidas. No caso de Marcel Dettmann, a ideia vai um pouco mais longe, por força do percurso do nosso convidado que, pelo seu caráter pioneiro, já muda vidas há uma década. Foi por essa altura que Dettmann, um de uma mão-cheia, se tanto, de nomes que, pela convicção, talento e faro apurado, ajudou a trazer o techno de volta à ribalta, após tempos de estagnação e apatia. As primeiras visitas ao Lux de Marcel ou do seu parceiro Ben Klock foram momentos de muita expectativa mas também alguma desconfiança, que para quem lá esteve, em números distantes das multidões que hoje ambos arrastam, constituíram um statement : uma nova era do techno tinha chegado. Mas não foi só o Lux, foram clubes, armazéns, festivais um pouco por todo o lado. No (re)início, estava Dettmann. Por isso o seu regresso tem de ser tão feito de gratidão como de exaltação. Por isso cremos que com ele, o “probably” se transforma em “Life changing, definitely”. Freddy K O italiano Alessio Armeni toca como se cada noite fosse a última oportunidade que tem de mostrar a música que ama a quem o escuta. A última vez que vai poder mudar a vida a uma pessoa que seja que dance à sua frente. Se concedermos a Freddy K um minuto a mais que seja para lá do tempo previsto para o seu set, podem ter a certeza que ele vai fazer com que esse minuto conte. Como se o salvar de uma vida dependesse disso. E já são muitas vidas a caber dentro de uma vida (quase 30 anos) a fazer isto. E imaginem “isto” como querer arrancar uma rosa do seu canteiro com as duas mãos, sem se importar minimamente com os espinhos, para nos oferecer. Porque nas mãos de Freddy K, o techno é espinhoso, selvagem, arrancado por vezes dos cantos mais improváveis, mas é também vistoso, feito de muitas cores, e sempre com a alma romântica de quem ainda acredita que nele está o escape, a salvação e o futuro. Não há que esconder que para muitos, Freddy é uma descoberta de anos recentes, apesar da sua veterania. Mas do que não há dúvida é que para nós, Freddy K se fez Freddy, The King, num bater do coração. SKATEBÅRD Bård é parte fundamental no movimento nórdico, especificamente norueguês, que vem trazendo frescura à cena de dança desde a segunda metade dos 90s. Em disco parece só existir neste novo século, presente em casas-forte escandinavas como a Keys Of Life / Säkhö e a Sex Tags Mania de DJ Sotofett - nessa foi um dos primeiros, em 2005: "Conga"! Que cena é a dele? Longa longa carreira na mistura de house, italo e electro, sobretudo, fazendo com que os géneros se confundam. A sua abordagem especial arranja fogo nas caixas de-ritmos bem marcadas e arpeggios sintetizados herdados da década de 1980, dirigindo ao Espaço a potência do ritmo que nos prende ao chão. Um set de Skatebård ascende facilmente à categoria de Épico, assente na vocação grandiosa de muita da música que selecciona. Ele próprio produz para essa narrativa, vai somando edições na sua Digitalo Enterprises. Ao lado, vai-se percebendo também de onde lhe chega alguma inspiração: o primeiro álbum, em 2002, chama-se "Skateboarding Was A Crime (In 1989)", e Bård está no hip hop como Sirkel Sag e como elemento dos Side Brok. No entanto, é a linha principal de Disco electrónico que puxa centenas de milhares como nós a ouvir os sets que a internet dá. Mudar de vida? Venham ver se é desta. In the case of Marcel Dettmann, the idea goes a little further, due to the trajectory of our guest who, due to his pioneering character, has already been changing lives since a decade ago. But it was not only at Lux, it was also in clubs, warehouses, festivals a bit everywhere. At the (re)start, there was Dettmann. That is why his return should be a moment of gratefulness as much as it is of exaltation. Because we believe that with, the "Probably" becomes "Definitely". FREDDY K Italy’s Alessio Armeni plays as if every night was his last chance to show the music he loves to those who listen to him. The last time he will be able to change the life of those dancing in front of him. If we give Freddy K a minute more beyond his set time, you can be sure he'll make that minute count. As if saving someone’s life depended on it. And there are already many lives to fit within a lifetime (almost 30 years) of doing this. Because in the hands of Freddy K, techno is thorny, wild, sometimes pulled out of the most improbable corners, but it is also arresting, made of many colors, and always with the romantic soul of those who still believe that it brings escape, salvation and the future. There is no need to hide that for many, Freddy is a discovery of recent years, despite his veteran status. But of course there is no doubt that for us, Freddy became Freddy, The King, in a heartbeat. SKATEBÅRD Bård is an essential part of the Nordic - specifically Norwegian - movement that's been adding freshness to the dance scene since the mid-1990s. As a recording artist he seems to exist only in this new century, releasing on Scandinavian powerhouses such as Keys Of Life / Sähkö and DJ Sotofett's Sex Tags Mania - he was one of the very first on Sex Tags, in 2005: "Conga"! What's he all about? Very long career mixing mainly house, italo and electro, blurring the lines between genres. His special approach gets its fire from highlighted drum machines and synthesized arpeggios pulled up from the 80s, aiming for Space while keeping our feet dancing on the floor. A Skatebard set can easily reach Epic status, based on the sheer grandiosity of much of the music he selects. He himself produces with that narrative in mind, whenever a new record is added to his Digitalo Enterprises label. On the side, we get to understand where some of the inspiration comes from: Skatebard's first album is named "Skateboarding Was A Crime (In 1989)" and Bård is on the hip hop scene as Sirkel Bag and part of the Side Brok crew.
