Numa noite de verão, um grupo de jovens encontra-se num descampado para dançar. Não é claro quem são, porque se encontram ali ou qual a relação entre eles, mas a intensidade da música eletrónica e a proximidade dos corpos vai criando encontros efémeros e pequenos conflitos, tornando a rave party numa montanha russa emocional, onde o erotismo e a violência estão à flor da pele. Num jogo virtuoso com o tempo e o movimento, Gisèle Vienne e o seu grupo de jovens bailarinos dissecam os acontecimentos, ora desacelerando-os num slow motion minucioso, ora recortando-os em movimentos bruscos. A pista de dança torna-se numa metáfora da sociedade contemporânea e os seus mecanismos para lidar com os impulsos eróticos do ser humano. A banda sonora revisita a música eletrónica de dança dos anos 90, enchendo o auditório com o techno pulsante dos Underground Resistance, completada com faixas de, entre outros, Drexciya, Jeff Mills, Vapour Space, Choice e Sun Electric.

Gisèle Vienne é uma das figuras centrais da nova dança francesa, tendo criado, desde 2004, várias obras de referência, tais como I Apologize, Jerk, This is how you will disappear e The Ventriloquist Convention.

On a summer’s night, a group of young people join together in an open field in order to dance. It isn’t clear who they are, why they have come together in this place or what’s the relationship between them, but the intensity of the electronic music and the proximity of their bodies repeatedly lead to short lived encounters and minor conflicts, thus turning the rave party into an emotional roller coaster, full of latent eroticism. In a virtuous game with time and movement, Gisèle Vienne and her group of young dancers dissect events, sometimes reducing their pace to an impressively precise slow motion, sometimes outlining them with brisk and sudden movements. The dance floor becomes a metaphor for contemporary society and its mechanisms for dealing with the erotic and aggressive impulses of the human being. The soundtrack revisits the electronic dance music of the 1990s, filling the auditorium with the pulsating techno of the Underground Resistance, together with tracks among others by Drexciya, Jeff Mills, Vapour Space, Choice and Sun Electric.

Gisèle Vienne is one of the central figures of the new French dance. Since 2004, she has created various major and influential works, such as I Apologize, Jerk, This is how you will disappear and The Ventriloquist Convention.
