A sua prática transita entre as artes visuais e a instalação. Sandra Artiñano sugere uma visão de um território que equivale a "alguma coisa" e a "nada", coexistindo num mesmo plano. Amante das teorias quânticas, da mecânica ondulatória de Schrödinger e do “psi” invisível e que ondula através do espaço. Apropria-se destas sinusóides que dão forma a esta obra, e das Teoria das Supercordas, utilizando este material como seu principal meio de expressão. Por outro lado, a imagem vazia, que percepcionamos entre os fragmentos ondulantes de cordas, são ondas complementares que concedem plenitude às suas peças. Subjetivamente, e desde a frequência da cor, introduz-se a energia do espectro electromagnético do ser humano para o representar, rompendo a simetria temporal da função de onda que é o contexto principal de estudo da mecânica quântica. Trabalha associando a frequência da cor a cada uma das necessidades humanas. A informação contida nas ondas, flui escondendo-se entre as cordas como fio condutor do tangível e do intangível. Esta obra de Sandra busca conectar esta informação invisível materializada em cada sutil tom de cor, com as emoções entre as que vivemos. Nesta exposição, a luz, a pintura, o mosaico e o vazio, são apresentados como espaço de trabalho. Os fractais, por sua vez, conectam a mencionada informação ondulatória e vibracional com a geometria divina da natureza. Víctor Pérez-Porro: "Depois de anos dedicados ao processo criativo da pintura, em busca de um trabalho não representacional, continuo, digamos assim, a seguir um percurso abstrato com uma construção geométrica. Primeiro, as cores e as linhas foram misturadas, fazendo parte uma da outra, depois a linha começou a ser descontinuada e os segmentos organizados numa grelha, intuitiva de início e mais tarde mais racional. Elas apenas se tocam no ponto em que podem ser expandidas pelo espaço, como "ladrilhos", a preto e branco… as formas aparecem entre eles… sobressaindo entre elas as ondas. A cor seguiu o seu próprio caminho, diferentes formas com sombras e luzes foscas, criando uma grelha de diferentes pixeis, expandindo-se harmoniosamente pelas paredes, mudando a sua aparência e percepção. A síntese dos elementos possibilita a criação de novas tensões e relações, uma reflexão constante acerca dos componentes básicos da pintura, da forma, da textura e da cor. Esta busca é alimentada pela realidade para mais tarde ser transcendida, permitindo a entrada noutros contextos. O meu primeiro contacto com o espaço do Passevite possibilitou-me a combinação de ambos os trabalhos, podendo adaptá-los ao white cube na entrada, seguindo um padrão de repetição e imagens espelhadas, de forma a alterar o ambiente, o "feeling" do espaço, adaptando-se aos diferentes volumes e, porque não, questionando-se de dentro para fora, como parte positiva de um processo onde as contradições e o sentido intangível da arte se podem encontrar" (Víctor Pérez-Porro sobre os trabalhos a apresentar em "Grid & Waves" (no Passevite, Lisboa); Barcelona, September 2018) (en) Grid & Waves Sandra Artiñano is an architect and a visual artist, her work art alternates between visual art and installations. Sandra Artiñano suggests a view of a territory that is equivalent to "something" and "nothing" coexisting on the same surface. She is fond of quantum theories, Schrödinger's wave mechanics and the invisible “psi that ripples through space. She appropriates these waves that give shape to this work, and Superstring Theories, using this material as her key means of expression. Meanwhile, the empty image we perceive between the undulating fragments of strings provides complementary waves that fill her works with plenitude. Subjectively and from the frequency of color, she brings energy into the electromagnetic spectrum of human beings to represent them, breaking the temporal symmetry of the wave function, which is the fundamental challenge to the study of quantum mechanics. She works by associating frequency of color with each of the human needs. Information contained in the waves flows while hiding between the strings like a connective thread between the tangible and the intangible. This work by Sandra strives to connect this visible information made in each subtle shade of color to the emotions that surround us. In this exhibition, she introduces light, paint, mosaic and void as workspace. The fractals, meanwhile, connect this undulatory and vibrational information to the divine geometry of nature. Víctor Pérez-Porro: "After years dedicated to the painting creative process, in the search of a non representational work, I keep following, let's say, the abstract path with a geometrical build up. First the color and the lines were blended, being part of each other, then the line started to be discontinued and the segments organize in a grid, intuitive at the beginning, more rational later. They just touch each other at one point and can be expanded through the space, like “tiles”, black and white…the forms appear between them …showing up the waves. The color went its own way, different shapes with blurred lights and shades, setting up a grid of different “pixels” expanding playfully on the walls changing the perception and the look. The synthesis of elements gives a chance to create new tensions and relationships , a constant reflection about the basic components of painting, the shape, texture and color, This search is nourished by reality to transcend it later and allowing to enter in other contexts. My first approach to the Passevite space trough the blueprints gave me the chance of combining both works in order to adapt to the cube at the entrance, following a pattern of repetition and mirror images in order to change the “feeling of the space”, adapting to the different volumes and, why not, keep questioning from the inside to the outside, as a positive part of a process where the contradictions and the intangible sense of art are found."
