Frames & Fragments is a window into the collaborative process of 5 artists over a three-week period in 2012. The group were on the first of three residencies as part of E-Motional Bodies & Cities artistic research programme. Spending 6 days with the group, I shadowed the activities which took them into urban and rural locations. The resulting film, a 22-minute portrayal and recognition of process, reveals an intimate and layered journey which embraces the essential qualities of making. It is a drawing together of screendance and documentary.

Workshop of Voice-Body-Sound directed by Judith State and Radu Dumitru

Through these voice-body-sound workshops dedicated to amateur/professional dancers and actors I aim to seek various organic ways of mixing body movement and voice (sounds, spoken text or singing) and bringing all of them to a mutual ground so that their alternation, simultaneity and complementarity happens in a way as natural as possible. The idea of retrospection, of remembering and traveling back in time will be the foundation of the class, allowing us to access our emotional memory, thus making us more aware of the living archive that our bodies represent. We will improvise both vocally and physically, we will generate sound support for others' improvisations, we will tackle some floor work accompanied by voice and, finally, we will create a vocal-choreographic phrase based on our own personal memory/story.
