Exposição "Big Kitchen"

Big Kitchen é uma exposição que tem como ponto de partida a família tipográfica “Big” e resulta de um esforço colectivo entre o designer João Miranda (Walking Fearless) e a plataforma Desisto com colaboração de Serafim Mendes.

O que fica por ver quando olhamos para as letras que nos rodeiam? - Esta é a pergunta que dá origem à exposição “Big Kitchen” que a partir da exploração exaustiva de uma única família tipográfica, pretende criar uma experiência interactiva que explora a anatomia do tipo de letra.
Abrimos a cozinha onde se desenvolvem tipos de letra, para tornar a compreensão desta actividade mais acessível a todas as pessoas, com um corpo de trabalho que explora diferentes métodos de produção gráfica, questionando e reinterpretando formatos tradicionais como o poster ou um type specimen.

A exposição terá lugar na Galeria da Fica - Oficina Criativa na Lx Factory em Lisboa entre os dias 09 e 29 de Novembro de 2018.

Big Kitchen is an exhibition that uses the “Big” type family as a starting point and it’s the combined effort of the designer João Miranda (Walking Fearless) and the design studio Desisto with the collaboration of Serafim Mendes.

What is left to see when you look at type?
This is the question that gave birth to the “Big Kitchen” exhibition, which through an exhaustive exploration of a single type family through an interactive experience that explores type anatomy. We open the kitchen where typefaces are developed, making it easier for everyone to understand what this craft is about making use of different graphic production methods, reinterpreting traditional formats to showcase typography such as a poster or type specimen.

The exhibition will take place in Fica - Oficina Criativa ’s gallery at Lx Factory in Lisbon from the 9th until the 29th of November 2018.
