Esta é uma semana mágica de imersão na cerâmica e na cultura japonesa, e de aprender e trabalhar com o Sensei Masakazu Kusakabe. Conhecer a história da cerâmica japonesa, os vidrados de cinza, fazer taças de chá na roda e pequenas esculturas em barro para depois entregá-las ao poder do fogo. Esta semana inclui duas cozeduras a lenha no nosso SASUKENEI-FORNO SEM FUMO, inventado e desenhado por Masakazu Kusakabe e construido na Cerdeira em 2015. Masakazu Kusakabe é um verdadeiro mestre em todos os sentidos. Os workshops com ele não se limitam à cerâmica, passam pela cultura japonesa com cerimónias de chá e confecção de Sushi, pela filosofia numa abordagem do conceito estético do “Wabi Sabi”, pela música, enfim, são dias de intenso trabalho, de aprendizagem e de convívio que estimulam o melhor que há em cada um de nós como artista e como ser humano. The shape of “Historical feelings or ancestry” to sense the memories and the goodness of an old shape through the piece. The feeling of a “Romantic and Fantastic” space, to feel the prose or poetry through the piece and observe the mysterious colors, shapes, and materials. For me, the kiln is a part of the universe. Inside is the big bang where bright firelight, galaxies, and stars (my pieces) are born. Firing is like the explosion of a volcano, and my pieces are like its lava rock.
