Towards Zero: Beach Cleaning

Plastic pollution is growing exponentially. Over 300 million tons of plastic are produced each year, out of which half is designed for single use and around 8 million tons end up in the oceans.

Join us for a day of beach cleaning at Praia das Maçãs, in Sintra, promoted by Second Home Lisboa, together with founder of Zero Waste Lab and PlasticSunDays, Ana Salcedo – followed by a lunch gathering with the volunteers.

All items collected at the beach will take on a new life – Artist Xicogaivota will share his expertise on how to up-cycle these materials and turn them into creative artwork.

A poluição devido ao consumo e desperdício de plástico está a crescer exponencialmente. Mais de 300 milhões de toneladas de plástico são produzidas todos os anos, sendo que metade é descartável e mais de 8 milhões de toneladas acabam no mar.  

Juntem-se a esta limpeza de praia promovida pela Second Home Lisboa, em parceria com o PlasticSunDays, seguida de um almoço com os voluntários.  
 
O lixo recolhido ganhará uma nova vida — o artista Xicogaivota vai partilhar a sua experiência com upcycling de plástico no sentido de se criar peças de arte.
