Este espetáculo conquistou já milhares de espectadores em Nova Iorque e em diversas capitais da Europa, para além da conquista total no Brasil, país de origem de Vinicius Piedade. “Cárcere” é uma reflexão sobre a liberdade através dos olhos de um pianista privado da sua liberdade e do seu piano. Depois de um tempo a tentar viver de sua arte, imerso em dificuldades, acaba por aceitar o convite de um “amigo” para venda de drogas, aproveitando o fato de contactar com pessoas nos bares. Sendo detido, tenta negociar com a direcção da prisão a entrada de um piano para ensinar a tocar os outros presos, líderes de fações criminosas que não acreditam na boa intenção e acabam por desejar-lhe a morte. O director coloca o pianista na “ala dos seguros”, mas isso uma rebelião, o que leva o pianista a iniciar a escrita de um diário onde não deixa de espelhar a realidade das prisões no Brasil. É aqui que tudo começa.

This play has already won over thousands of spectators in New York and various capitals of Europe, in addition to completely conquering Brazil, the land of origin of Vinicius Piedade. “Prison” is a reflection on freedom through the eyes of a pianist deprived of his freedom and of his piano. After a period trying to live from his art, surrounded by difficulties, he ended up accepting the invitation of a “friend” to sell drugs, taking advantage of the fact that he was in contact with people in bars. Once detained, he tried to negotiate with the prison management board for a piano to be brought in to teach other prisoners to play, leaders of criminal factions who did not believe in his good intentions and ended up wishing him dead. The director placed the pianist in the “safe lock-up wing”, but that was a rebellion, which led the pianist to start writing a diary in which he mirrored the reality of prisons in Brazil. This is where it all begins.
