Slimmy is a Portuguese singer/songwriter whose unique combination of rock and electro has placed him at the forefront of innovative alternative music. In 2007, with the release of his debut album “Beatsound Loverboy”, Slimmy entered into the scene with a bang with the album voted as the 3rd best national album of the past 15 years (as selected by the listeners of Radio Antena 3).That same year, he was nominated for the “Golden Globe Newcomer of the Year” award, as well as the “MTV Europe Music Awards” for best Portuguese artist. The single, “Bloodshot Star” was featured on the acclaimed American television show CSI and another track “Self Control” was included on UK’s Sky Sports. After several demanding tours and writing sessions, Slimmy released his second album "Be Someone Else" in 2010, which was recorded both in Portugal and in the UK. The album features two singles, "The Games You Play" and "Be Someone Else", and once again received critical acclaim with heavy radio play and extensive touring. Now, in 2013, Slimmy has returned with his third album “Freestyle Heart”, enlisting the production of Canadian Andrew Torrance. Slimmy says of the album "..it reveals a more mature and upbeat side...” while maintaining his unique brand of danceable electro rock that fans have come to know and love.In 2014 and 2015 Slimmy released a few singles in his native tongue, that got included in tv soap operas, with special attention to his largely acclaimed single Um anjo como tu, with over one million views on YouTube, and number 1 in several radio stations. After a 2016 of songwriting and preparing the 4th album, Slimmy is back with ALIVE, upcoming new single of half a saint, half a bitch album, to be released later. Still using the craft to combine rock n roll with melodic synths and catchy choruses.
