FEST - New Directors | New Films Festival 2018

FEST - New Directors New Films Festival is a unique gathering of up-and-coming filmmakers, focused on creating a space for them to showcase and promote their work, to develop their skills and to find new opportunities. 
In 2018, it will take place from the 18 to the 25th of June in the sunny seaside town of Espinho, Portugal.

The Film Program for Fest is divided in:
1. Competitive Sections 
Golden Lynx (Fiction and Documentary Feature Film), Silver Lynx (Fiction, Documentary, Animation and Experimental Short Films), Portuguese Grand Prix (Portuguese Short Films), FESTinha (Jury composed by children and teens) and NEXXT (International Academic Competition)  

2. Non-competitive sections:  
Flavours of the World (short film retrospective of 3 countries, Be Kind Rewind (Feature Film retrospective of 1 country) and Beach Cinema (Feature Film by the beach)

You can still submit your film until the 4th of March 2018:
- Short films by filmmakers up to the age of 30 (Silver Lynx competition); 
- Features from directors who are on their first or second production, regardless of their age (Golden Lynx competition).

At the same time there are two other events happening: 

FEST - Training Ground, the educational section of FEST.
It hosts more than 30 masterclasses, workshops and ateliers during the festival where the participants are able to get in touch the industry’s leading experts with highly acknowledged achievements, and also share their experience and widen their contacts with other trainees in a relaxed but energetic environment.

FEST - Pitching Forum 
International financing and co-production competition dedicated to the facilitation, development and financing of film projects
