DESIGN & is an exhibition by students from the Master in Communication Design at ESAD. Graphic design responds to content, but what if the content is graphic design itself?  

The assignment given to students from year one of the Master in Communication Design is to create a graphic project that explores visual languages, references and associations that use areas of knowledge that lie outside of the field of design as subject matter.  

This involves researching structural aspects of these knowledge areas – how they function as intellectual explorations – and some of the forms of visual representation that they traditionally employ. The challenge therefore is to create a work whose primary subject matter is forms of visual representation.
