Introduction to Mindfulness

Have you ever felt overwhelmed by the demands of your daily life? 
The pressure we feel often makes us unhappy, distracted and stressed. Mindfulness meditation is a tried and tested method to help us to relax, relieve stress, improve concentration and lead a happier life.

What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness is a simple and powerful practice of training our attention. It’s simple in that it’s really just about paying attention to what’s happening here and now. It’s powerful because it can interrupt the habit of getting lost in thoughts, mostly about the future or past, which often generates more stress on top of the real pressures of everyday life.

What to Expect?
Over 3 sessions, you will have the opportunity to learn: 
- Mindfulness meditation practices
- How to deal with difficult and challenging emotions
- Mindful movement exercises- An overview of the science behind how the practice leads to stress reduction and better quality of life

About the Facilitator
Lucy Gerardin develops and facilitates Mindfulness & Emotional Intelligence programmes. She is a trained MBSR instructor (UCSD Center for Mindfulness), a Search Inside Yourself ENGAGE alumni, a trained Iyengar Yoga instructor and has been practicing meditation for over 15 years.
