SUGAR AWARENESS WORKSHOP Do you sometimes feel guilty about the amount of sugar you eat? Do you often feel the need to reduce your sugar intake? We are repeatedly told to cut down on sugar. But do you actually know why? Why is sugar demonised in our diet? And How can we actually avoid too much sugar? Join this eye-opening and fun 2 day workshop at the House of Zen, a tranquil environment which will be perfect for you to take this insightful Sugar Awareness Workshop led by food expert Maryam Madantji. We will gain essential knowledge on the importance of sugar in our diet, why most of us crave it so much, why we need to keep an eye on the sugar levels in our system, as well as what a healthy sugar intake means. About Maryam Madantji Maryam is a registered general nurse and OT nurse. She holds a second Bachelor’s degree in European Public Health and a Masters of Health Food Innovation Management, both from the Maastricht University. Aside from health and food nutrition, she is also a passionate Ashtanga and Vinyasa instructor at House of Zen, drawn by the philosophy and lifestyle of yoga. Her focus in this workshop is on offering awareness for a mindful, healthy, and balanced nutritional state. International standards for glucose levels 2nd Session, Feb. 4., 2018 (SUN) 10.30 am - 12.30 - How to read labels on products and how to interpret them? . What tricks do supermarkets and food/beverage companies employ to hide the sugar content of products? - Which sugars are healthy, which ones should I avoid? - How can I reduce my sugar intake? Note: Each session approx. duration is 2 hrs.
