Esta é uma sensação transversal a culturas, idiomas, ideologias políticas e geografias, apesar do constante fluxo de mensagens que afirmam o contrário. Este concerto junta quatro músicos de diferentes culturas que deixaram a sua terra natal e se mudaram para outro lugar, impelidos pelo desejo de ter uma vida melhor. Respeitamos as tradições musicais de cada um, embora não saibamos quão profundas elas são – vamo-nos conhecendo uns aos outros enquanto tocamos, na esperança de que essa experiência de exploração e alegria seja partilhada com o público. This is independent of culture, language, politics and geography in spite of the constant flow of messages to the contrary. This concert brings together four musicians from different cultures who have left their homelands and moved elsewhere, driven by the desire to make a better life. We respect each others musical traditions, even though we do not know their depths - we are all learning from each other as we play, and we hope that experience of exploration and delight is shared with our audience. Dave Boyd (Irlanda/Portugal) O cantor e multi-instrumentalista Dave Boyd toca instrumentos de teclas e uma gama eclética de percussão de mão, tendo-se especializado no bodhrán irlandês. É um diretor e produtor musical altamente reconhecido, bem como um educador e intérprete de grande carisma. Ao longo da sua carreira, tem abraçado áreas como a performance, a gravação e a composição em teatro, dança, cinema e televisão, as quais tem articulado com a realização de extensas tournées e formações a nível internacional. Colaborou, entre outros, com The Royal Shakespeare Company, The Abbey Theatre Dublin, BBC, Retina Dance Company, Scottish Ballet, Edinburgh Festival Theatre, The Roundhouse London, The Festival of World Cultures, British Council India, English National Opera, Fabulous Beast Dance Theatre, Companhia Nacional de Bailado, UNESCO Cities of Music Glasgow e Idanha-A-Nova, entre outros, além de exercer funções de professor no Tamburi Mundi Festival e de diretor artístico na Frame Drums Atlantic. O seu álbum atual Salvage is available now. Arezoo Rezvani (Isfahan, Irão) Arezoo Rezvani estudou santur (saltério persa) com Kurosh Aschigh, Ardavan Kamkar, Aidin Olianasab, Arfa Atrae e Master Mohammad Reza Lotfi e obteve a sua licenciatura em música pela Universidade de Guilan com distinção. No Irão, fez parte da orquestra Sheyda e foi também a primeira maestrina de orquestra em Isfahan. Colaborou ainda nos álbuns "Zakhme Saz", de Mohammad Reza Lotfi, e "Shur Afarin", de Hossein Dehlavi. O seu primeiro álbum a solo será editado em breve. Além de concertos nos Países Baixos, Finlândia, Áustria e Turquia, Arezoo também trabalha como professora e conferencista. Em 2017, realizou um workshop sobre música persa na Popakademie Baden-Württemberg e encontra-se atualmente a preparar um método de ensino para o santur. Desde 2015 que vive em Arnsberg, na Alemanha, longe da sua família e do seu país, em resposta à insustentável proibição de intérpretes femininas no Irão. Arezoo tem percorrido um caminho difícil para se manter fiel à sua paixão e à sua arte. Balázs Hermann (Hungria/Inglaterra) Balázs toca contrabaixo e baixo fretless nos mais diversos estilos. Desde os 16 anos que tem vindo a realizar performances musicais, tendo estado envolvido com uma longa sucessão de grupos, incluindo agrupamentos musicais criativos, clássicos, de jazz, metal e folk. As suas colaborações em gravações e performances incluem os coletivos Gire, Samling, Lipsync for a Lullaby, Tamás Kátai's Thy Catafalque e Real Dave, entre muitos outros No passado, realizou tournées por salas de concerto e festivais da Europa, tocou ao vivo na BBC Radio Scotland, andou em digressão com o Flashes Improvisative Theather, na Hungria, e muito mais. Atualmente, toca com Sifr Ensemble e Cab Collective. Marc Planells (Catalunha) Músico multi-instrumentista, toca diversos instrumentos de corda e outros: Sitar, Oud, Rubab, Afegão, Saz, Fretless Guitar, Jaltarang... Em 2003 começa a viajar, devido a sua atracção por outras sonoridades. Estudando na Índia o Sitar, o canto e a música Hindustani; no Egipto e a Turquia o Oud (Alaúde Turco e Árabe). Desde então dedica a sua vida ao estudo e à interpretação de diversos instrumentos e tradições no âmbito da música modal. Toca e colabora com diferentes grupos a nível nacional e internacional como: Terrakota, Orquestra Todos, Selam, Anaidcram, Yogui Estragong, Terraignota, Trobadors, Músicos do Tejo, Ludovice Ensemble BIOS EN This project has been brought together especially for the 2017 Festival Fora do Lugar by Dave Boyd. Dave Boyd (Ireland/Portugal) Multi-instrumentalist and singer Dave Boyd plays keyboard instruments and an eclectic range of hand percussion - specialising in the Irish bodhrán. He is a highly regarded musical director, producer and a charismatic live performer and educator. His career embraces performance, recording and composing in theatre, dance, film and television, combined with extensive international touring and teaching. He has worked with, among others, The Royal Shakespeare Company, The Abbey Theatre Dublin, BBC, Retina Dance Company, Scottish Ballet, Edinburgh Festival Theatre, The Roundhouse London, The Festival of World Cultures, British Council India, English National Opera, Fabulous Beast Dance Theatre, Companhia Nacional de Bailado, UNESCO Cities of Music Glasgow and Idanha-A-Nova, and is a member of the teaching staff at Tamburi Mundi Festival and Artistic Director of Frame Drums Atlantic. He's been performing music since age 16 and has been involved with a long line of groups, including classical, jazz, metal, folk and creative music formations. He's been recording and performing with groups such as Gire, Samling, Lipsync for a Lullaby, Tamás Kátai's Thy Catafalque and Real Dave to name but a few. Past performances include European tours of concert venues and festivals, Live appearance on BBC Radio Scotland, touring with Flashes Improvisative Theather in Hungary and many more. He plays with Sifr Ensemble and Cab Collective. Since then he has devoted his life to the study and performance of various instruments and traditions in the context of modal music.
