05 OCT \\\ 21h30 Ateneu Comercial do Porto (english below) XHE, Daniel Kok “Xhe” é um novo trabalho que estou a desenvolver com um amigo de longa data e artista visual, Miho Shimizu, e com Karol Tyminski como performer. O trabalho ainda está a ser construído, mas, no entanto, gostaria de fazer uma rápida exposição deste trabalho e fazer uma demonstração. Desta forma, isto irá permitir-me pôr em prática algumas noções e práticas que irei partilhar neste Symposium. Fotografia de (c) Kanako Iwanaka DANIEL KOK estudou Fine Art & Critical Theory no Goldsmiths College (Londres), Solo / Dance / Authorship (SODA) na HZT (Berlim) e completou o Advanced Performance and Scenography Studies (APASS, Bruxelas). Em 2008, ele ganhou o Young Artist Award do National Arts Council (Singapura). Os seus trabalhos foram exibidos na Ásia, Europa, Austrália e América do Norte, nomeadamente no ImpulsTanz (Viena) e Festival / Tóquio. Como pole dancer, ele representou Singapura no International Pole Championships 2013 (Finalista). Em 2017, foi comissariado pelo Singapore International Festival of the Arts para dirigir "MARK", um trabalho massivo de desenho e dança em diferentes espaços públicos. I will also try to draw a link to some ideas that fascinate me currently; about queerness and The Female Gaze. Feedback or a lively conversation with others would be most welcomed.
