Mask Improvisation, Gestural Theatre and Commedia dell’Arte. These intensive Workshops are intended for actors, performers, directors, teachers and students of theatre and meet the last discoveries of the Mask School. Created in 1997, the Mask School promoted, for the last 20 years annual courses where the Mask Technique was taught to hundreds of students. The creations of the FC Produções Teatrais with actors trained in this technique and the International Festival of Masks and Comedians, with his strand of training courses directed by masters of international renown, contributed to a clearance and renewal of the training provided by the School. It is intended with these intensive Workshops start new actors in the methodology of the mask, covering over four weekends, for a total of 48 hours of work, the following areas: 1º Weekend (5 and 6 August) - Preparation for the mask – Work of the Choirs, inspired by the Ancient Greek Theatre. Introduction to the specific rules of the mask Technique and practical work through practical exercises 2º Weekend (12 and 13 August) – Gestural Theatre – Introducing to the work with the Neutral Mask. Practical exercises and improvisation with Neutral, Expressive and Larvar Masks. 3º Weekend (19 and 20 August) - Commedia dell’Arte – Presentation of the fixed characters of Commedia dell’Arte: Zanis, Pantalone e Dottore, Lovers and Attractions. Practical work on the characters chosen by the actors. 4º Weekend (26 and 27 August) – Creation of Lazzi and Canevas, dramaturgy of group creation in Traditional Popular Theatre – Foundation for the elaboration of a script (canovacio). Work of improvisation and group creation. Disciple of Mario Gonzalez, Ariane Mnouchkine and Ferruccio Soleri, among other masters of mask theater, founded the Meia Preta troupe in 1989 with some of his students. In 1995 he founded the FC Produções Teatrais and in 1997 the School project of the Mask. Since 1087 that their courses have been conducted in the main theatre schools in the country and also abroad, in Portuguese-speaking countries, and in Italy and Spain. In 2001 he creates the International Festival of Masks and Comedians who, together with the presentation of spectacles, has welcome the completion of stages of Masks directed by masters of international renown, as Carlo Boso, António Fava, Adriano Yourissevich and Mas Soegeng, among others already mentioned.
