A história faz-se também de despedidas – e os Swans, que Michael Gira ressuscitou em 2010 após treze anos de ausência têm, agora, um segundo adeus anunciado. Desde a confrontacional abrasividade dos primeiros lançamentos, passando pela folk sombria e assombrada de discos como Love of Life ou The Burning World, até ao vórtice de rock hipnótico e majestático praticado desde a sua reunião, os Swans firmaram desde sempre o seu nome como um dos mais influentes da música experimental. No que serão as derradeiras oportunidades de testemunharmos a esmagadora presença em palco de Michael Gira e companhia, os Swans regressam a Portugal para duas datas; os concertos acontecem a 8 e 9 de Outubro no Hard Club (Porto) e no Lisboa ao vivo, respectivamente.
As primeiras partes, em ambas as datas, estarão nas mãos de Baby Dee. A artista e performer norte-americana, que já colaborou com nomes como Antony Hegarty, Current 93, Will Oldham ou Andrew W.K., apresentará uma obra que tem tanto de excêntrico como de desconcertante.

History is also made of farewells – and Swans, resurrected by Michael Gira in 2010 after thirteen years of absence, have announced their second demise for later this year. From the confrontational abrasiveness of the early releases, through the dark and haunting folk of albums like Love of Life or The Burning World, to the hypnotic and majestic vortex they’ve been creating since the reunion – listen to The Seer or the latest The Glowing Man – Swans have always firmly established their name as one of the most influential in experimental music. In what will be the last chances to witness the massive onstage presence of Michael Gira & co., Swans will return to Portugal for two shows, taking place on October 8th and 9th at Hard Club (Porto) and Lisboa ao Vivo (Lisbon), respectively.
Baby Dee will the the opening act on both dates. The American artist and performer, who has collaborated with names like Antony Hegarty, Current 93, Will Oldham or Andrew W.K., will present a body of work that is as eccentric as it is disconcerting.
