Por cá, já passou pelo Out.Fest, pelas Noites Príncipe - mas também corre a Europa e já actuou num dos venues do momento em Londres, a Camden Assembly, e o festival austríaco Hyperreality. Há quem a compare a Actress ou a Tim Hecker e a associe a coordenadas pós-IDM - BLEID é isso tudo, sim, mas é muito mais. BLEID representa uma nova geração esclarecida e fresca: entende a música como um contínuo que, independentemente da forma, existe para (re)mexer a alma - e por isso pode ir do drone hiper visceral à música de dança mais colorida e sincopada sem comprometer o seu cariz evocativo. Chima Hiro Chima Hiro é Rinchen Gatete, provavelmente a belga mais lisboeta de… sempre? A Lisboa de que falamos é, claro, aquela que admiramos mais: aberta, luminosa, completa, multicultural, cheia de nuance e calor humano. Primeiro que tudo uma fã de música com uma voz muito própria, Chima tornou-se no último par de anos numa espécie super-heroina dos dance moves e das slow jams - as escolhas coloridas, mordazes e honestas que faz para o seu programa de rádio NYCE & SLO na Quântica são testemunho desse ímpeto, e vão do new age ao jazz, música ambiente ou, beats distorcidos ou house melódico. O seu percurso enquanto DJ anda de mãos dadas com a sua estreia na rádio: é ainda curto mas já a levou a cabines de algumas das festas mais interessantes do underground lisboeta. É assim que acontece quando as coisas vêem de dentro. O seu sentido de humor já a levou a descrever os seus sets como YOLO FENG SHUI ou SpaceShip Disco, e a suas expansividade já fez com que aparecesse em várias colaborações ao vivo - partilhou pratos, CDJs e mesa de mistura com muitos nomes entusiasmantes do fértil solo nacional: SONJA e Jackie; DJ Carie; La Young; Afonso Simões (a.k.a. DJ Crazyman ou Stasera) ou Mário Valente. Uma voz urgente de se ouvir e uma lufada de ar fresco. Uma mulher sem medos. Como merece o bar do Lux Frágil. Gonçalo Siopa Ainda estava a despontar a primeira década do século XXI quando Gonçalo Siopa começou a rodar os discos que o faziam estremecer em diversos clubes de Lisboa - e mais tarde também em outras cidades. O carácter da sua colecção de vinil é um de calor baleárico, exuberância disco e grão soul. Mas com a música de Siopa os adjectivos sabem a pouco: em nada as suas selecções podem ser classificadas, nem previstas, e nem por isso são menos infecciosas. Esse talento raro valeu-lhe longas residências em cabines tão essenciais como a do Frágil, por exemplo. Residente também na Rádio Quântica, onde conduz bimensalmente um slot de duas horas chamado 'Arrepio', Siopa vai, ano após ano, aperfeiçoando ad infinitum a sua habilidade de navegar a linha que interessa, aquela que representa a intersecção dos quadrantes do bom gosto, do feeling, do conhecimento e da intuição para fazer dançar. Quase 20 anos a fazer dos pratos a sua voz deram mais do que certo, e o bar do Lux é a arena perfeita para receber a visão deste herói local. Photonz Embora a sua música soe sempre fresca, Photonz já anda nisto há mais de uma década: Marco Rodrigues lançou o seu primeiro EP em 2006 na editora londrina Living Records e, desde então, construiu um caminho ladrilhado de música de dança inventiva que lhe deu um perfil de culto entre fãs de música de dança crua, inspirada no movimento rave. As suas produções foram lançadas em editoras underground tão icónicas como 20/20 Vision, Skylax, Dissident, Crème Organization (e a sua sub-label R-zone), Unknown To The Unknown de DJ Haus e muitas mais. É o produtor por detrás de uma das faixas underground mais ubíquas do ano passado, o seu remix para 'Institute of the Overmind' de Legowelt foi parar às malas de discos de um vasto número de DJs de topo - incluindo Mike Servito, DJ TLR, Adriatique, Volvox ou DJ Haus. O seu som, enquanto DJ e produtor, é uma nova abordagem aos legados da house de Chicago, techno (e electro ao estilo Drexciya) de Detroit e, claro, as influências formatvas da cena rave portuguesa dos anos 90 e nomes-charneira como DJ Vibe ou Kaos Records. O resultado é um som-assinatura que lhe grangeou o apoio do luminários como Legowelt, Blawan, Ben UFO, Trevor Jackson, Jackmaster ou Dan Avery e levou as suas DJ skills a clubes em Berlim, Londres, Paris, Lyon, Barcelona e mais cidades europeias - incluindo também aparições em festivais como o Sònar Barcelona, Lovebox de Londres ou o português Sudoeste. Marco é também fundador da One Eyed Jacks, uma editora que é sinónimo de alguma da música de dança mais essencial vinda de Portugal - e casa das primeiras produções de artistas como Violet, Roundhouse Kick, Pal +, Lake Haze e do design gráfico de Márcio Matos, também da Príncipe Discos. Essa mesma dedicação ao underground português manifestou-se ainda quando, em 2015, Marco juntou forças com Violet para fundar a estação de rádio online Rádio Quântica, também a nova casa do seu programa Princípio da Incerteza. Enquanto organizador das festas Moderna, Solution trouxe ao Porto alguns dos nomes mais rasgantes do underground global - Madteo, Positive Centre, Not Waving, Lukid, Powell e Florian Kupfer foram alguns dos seus convidados - e como DJ, trata o seu público com o mesmo respeito e generosidade. É conhecido por fazer funcionar coisas que a muitos DJs assustaria tocar, fluente num diálogo com a pista que permite novidade experiencial, e não apenas disco novos. É por tudo isto que é sussurrado como sendo um dos melhores DJs portugueses junto dos mais atentos, e o seu regresso ao Lux é urgente. - Inês Coutinho \\ ENGLISH // BLEID (live) BLEID, the artist name that one of the most exciting Lisbon producers uses to sign her sonic sculptures - is a name that comes up more and more in the local undeground, be it because of the undeniable appeal of her tracks or because of her inebriating performances in live act format. In Portugal, she's played Out.Fest and the Príncipe nights - but she also tours Europe and has performed in one of London's venues-of-the-moment Camden Assembly and Austrian festival Hyperreality. She's been compared to Actress or Tim Hecker and associated with post-IDM coordinates - BLEID is definitely all that, but she's lots more. BLEID represents a perceptive, fresh new generation: she understands music as a continuum that, despite of its form, exists to shake the soul - and so it could go from hyper visceral drone to colourful, syncopated dance music without compromising its evocative quality. She prepares her live acts with that same generous idea in mind - she writes the music and its modulations on purpose for each slot she plays, adapting to the line-up she's part of without losing an inch of her feeling. We know she is readying something special for her Santa Apolónia debut. Remember her name, as this is just the beginning. Chima Hiro Chima Hiro is Rinchen Gatete, probably the most Lisbon a belgian woman has been… ever? The Lisbon we mean is, of course, the one we admire the most: open, bubbly, complete, multicultural, full of nuance and human warmth. First of all a music fan with a distinctive voice of her own, Chima has become in the past couple of years a sort of super-hero of dance moves and slow jams - her colourful, raw, honest picks for her radio show NYCE & SLO on Quântica are proof of that compulsion, and go from new age to jazz, ambient, distorted beats or melodic house. Her path as a DJ goes hand in hand with her debut at the radio: still fresh, it has nonetheless taken her to the booths of some of the most interesting parties in Lisbon's undegrround. That's how it goes when stuff comes from within. Her sense of humour has led her to describe her sets as YOLO FENG SHUI or SpaceShip Disco, and her expansivity means she's performed live on a collaborative format several times - she has shared decks, CJs and mixers with many exciting names in our fertile landscape: SONJA and Jackie; DJ Carie; La Young; Afonso Simões (a.k.a. DJ Crazyman ou Stasera) or Mário Valente. A voice that urgently needs to be heard, a breath of fresh air. A fearless woman. Just what Lux Frágil's bar deserves. Gonçalo Siopa The first decade of the 21st century had just started when Gonçalo Siopa emerged as a DJ, playing the records that spoke to him in various Lisbon clubs - and later other cities. The character of his vinyl collection blends balearic warmth, disco exuberance and soul depth. But with Siopa's music, adjectives don't quite cut it: his selections are anything but classifiable or predictable, and yet they're as infectious as they come. That rare talent has given him long residencies in booths as essential as Frágil's, for example. Also a resident at Rádio Quântica, where he runs a bimonthly two hour slot called 'Arrepio' (Shiver), Siopa keeps, year upon year, perfecting ad infinitum his skill to navigate the line that matters, the line that represents the intersection of the quadrants of good taste, feeling, knowledge and dancefloor intuition. Almost 20 years making the decks his voice have gone very right, and Lux's bar is the perfect arena to host the vision of this local hero. Photonz As fresh as his music may sound, Photonz has been around for over a decade now: Marco Rodrigues dropped his debut in 2006 on a small London label called Living Records and, since then, built a path of inventive dance tracks that got him a kind of cult status among fans of grittier, rave-inspired dance music. His productions have been released on iconic underground labels such as 20/20 Vision, Skylax, Dissident, legendary Dutch label Creme Organization (and its sub-label R-zone), DJ Haus' Unknown To The Unknown and many others. He's the producer behind one of last year's most ubiquitous underground tracks; his remix for Legowelt's "Institute of the Overmind" found its way into the record bags of a vast number of top DJs - including Mike Servito, DJ TLR, Adriatique, Volvox or DJ Haus. His sound as a DJ and producer is a new take on the legacies of early Chicago house, Detroit techno and Drexciya-style electro - always fused with formative influences of the Portuguese rave scene of the 90's and flagship names such as DJ Vibe or Kaos Records. The result is a unique signature sound that earned him the support of luminaries such as Legowelt, Blawan, Ben UFO, Trevor Jackson, Jackmaster and Dan Avery, to name a few, and brought his celebrated DJ skills to clubs in Berlin, London, Paris, Lyon, Barcelona and other cities - including festival appearances in Sonar BCN, London's Lovebox or Portuguese summer festival Sudoeste. Marco is also the founder One Eyed Jacks, a label that's synonymous with some of the most essential dance music coming from Portugal and home to early productions of artists such as Violet, Roundhouse Kick, Pal +, Lake Haze and the the graphic design of Márcio Matos, of Príncipe Discos fame. That same dedication to the Portuguese scene manifested even further when, in November 2015, Marco joined forces with Violet to start the online station Rádio Quântica, also the new home for his long running radio show "Princípio da Incerteza". SOLUTION Solution's obsession with the avant-garde is something that defines him and perspires through all the pores of his artistic production - be that his DJing, his music production, graphic design or fashion design. A true Renaissance man - if the Renaissance happened tomorrow. A core member of the same Terrain Ahead crew that brought us luminaries of the new portuguese underground such as IVVVO and Trikk, Tiago Carneiro is a true gem from Porto's cultural fabric, and his DJ reputation is immaculate. As a promotor of the Moderna parties, Solution brought to his hometown some of the most daring names of the global underground - Madteo, Positive Centre, Not Waving, Lukid, Powell and Florian Kupfer are but a few of his past guests. And as a DJ e treats his crowds with the exact same respect and generosity. He's known for making work tracks that would scare a lot of DJs, fluently creating a dialogue with the dancefloor that allows space for experiential novelty - and not just new records.
