African Dance Retreat

Movement of African Expression (MAE) retreat  "FROM THE SEED TO THE TREE"
MAE is a method inspired in the dances of african diaspora, includind the technical and expressive, where it is possible to recover the knowledge of the "natural body", the sensations of the dancing Being and an authentic spontaneous movement.

MAE honours the ancestral Africa as a structural cornerstone of the Human Roots. It brings back the knowledge of the primordial every day life, rooted in our genetic code.

 The relationship between the contemporary and the traditional movement creates a stronger and more consistent dance.

Goals
Technical
Reeducation of posture and breathing trough african dances;
Identify and explore energetic channels;
Simbols, codes and elements of traditional african dances and their culture and social context;
Expressive
Interperter, feel and free the roots of the traditional african dance (west coast);
Growing of the body consciousness, intentions, movements and development of body expression, hands and face;
Promote the connection, expansion, consciousness and evolution fo the body.

As the "natural" body is recovered, the emotions, blocks and desires are danced in a state of hiper-consciessness, so the movement and the atitude can evolve.

- Proposal: the movement searches for unity and wholeness; "I'm  ALL(IN)ONE"

- Theme: Branches
- Proposal: "I trust and open myself to give and receive"
- Sharing circle

August 12th / Saturday

- Theme: Flowers
- Proposal: Gratefulness "I am grateful for all, because everyone around me is creating a space for my transformation."
- Theme: Fruits
- Proposal: Action, the sacred atitude of the dance
- Thouth: The Master in me
