MEXEU COM UMA, MEXEU COM TODAS NÃO À CULTURA DA VIOLAÇÃO! O que é a cultura da violação? A cultura da violação é aquela que encara as mulheres como objetos sexuais e de consumo masculino. É o entendimento de que as mulheres não são seres autodeterminados e donas da sua sexualidade. A cultura da violação é aquela que afirma, confortavelmente, que os homens são incapazes de controlar os seus impulsos sexuais, desculpando, por isso, os comportamentos agressivos, procurando naturalizá-los. Uma sociedade que aceita e assimila esta cultura é uma sociedade que relativiza os crimes contra a autodeterminação sexual: os homens não se conseguem controlar e as mulheres devem estar ao serviço dos impulsos masculinos. Esta cultura, ao invés de defender e proteger as vítimas, culpabiliza-as, trazendo para a discussão a forma como as mulheres se vestem, os locais que frequentam, as horas a que o abuso ocorre e o estado de lucidez da vítima e/ou do agressor como argumentos aceitáveis para o desagravo de um comportamento que é crime. Esta cultura tolhe a liberdade das mulheres, porque faz recair sobre elas a responsabilidade de não serem agredidas. No país dos brandos costumes, as mulheres continuam a ser cidadãs de segunda. É contra isto que nos levantamos. Contra uma cultura que desculpabiliza a violência de género, que ignora os direitos humanos e que transforma as vítimas em culpadas. Respeitamos todas as vítimas. Não temos a ousadia de dizer o que faríamos se estivéssemos no lugar delas, porque não estamos. A forma como cada mulher decide reagir perante o crime de que foi vítima é decisão sua e tem o nosso respeito e solidariedade. Na próxima quinta-feira saímos à rua para denunciar e combater esta cultura. Saímos à rua para dizermos que não há nós e elas, aquilo que existe são mulheres que todos os dias enfrentam uma sociedade prenhe de violência machista. Elas somos nós. Say no to rape culture What is rape culture? Rape culture treats women as sexual objects for male consumption. It's the idea that women are not self-determined beings and that they don't own their own sexuality. Rape culture comfortably claims that men are incapable of controlling their sexual urges and tries to defend their aggressive behaviour, making it seem natural. A society that accepts this culture is a society that relativizes crimes against sexual self-determination: men cannot control themselves and women should be at the service of male impulses. This culture, instead of defending and protecting the victims, makes them seem guilty by mentioning how women dress, the places they frequent, what time it was when they were abused and if whether the victim or the abuser where under the influence of any kind of substance as acceptable arguments to euphemize a behaviour which is a crime. This culture diminishes women's freedom, as it makes them responsible for whether they are assaulted or not. Women are still being treated as a second class being, and we rise against this. Against a culture that excuses gender-based violence, that ignores human rights and that makes victims responsible for what happened to them. We respect all victims. WE do not dare to say what we would do if we were in their place because we are not. The way in which each woman decides to react to the crime they were a victim of is their own decision and has our respect and solidarity. This Thursday we'll go out to the streets to denounce and fight this culture. We'll show them that there isn't "we and them", what exists is women that every day have to deal with a society that breaths misogynistic violence. They are we.
