MIL TALKS | Build a Band

Many artists build their careers in a particular place but, at the same time, they have ambition to go further afield and win international recognition. How does one plan an international campaign in a way that it reaches the main European and international markets? This talk gathers a panel of international experts and professionals from different sectors of the music industry, to present and talk about the various types of campaigns and key strategies to promote artists and their work internationally.

Producer / Agent / Journalist / Founder and Manager, Arruada Agency (Portugal)

Pedro Trigueiro has been working in different fields of the music industry for several years, either as a journalist, a manager, an agent or a producer. He is the founder and manager of Arruada, an agency that manages and promotes a vast rooster of artists and bands, including Buraka Som Sistema, Mallu Magalhães or Regula. He is the executive producer of several award-wining albuns and has worked, as a producer, booker and consultant to a range of festivals, like Globaile, Lisboa Dance Festival and EDP Cool Jazz Festival.

Co-founder and manager, Junzi Arts (France)

Clotaire founded Junzi Arts, in January 2013. Junzi is a booking agent and tour promoter worldwide and represents the likes of Woodkid, Chassol, AaRON and Broken Back. Prior to that, he worked for over a dozen years for Paris-based agency Caramba, which specialized in world music. During this time he developed from scratch acts such as Imany, Zaz, Ben l'Oncle Soul and Woodkid that would go on to win European Border Breaker awards and sell out arenas across Europe.

ALLAN MCGOWAN (UK)
ILMC / IQ Magazine / Allan McGowan Consultants (UK)

Allan McGowan has over forty-five years of experience in the music industry as a record retail, a concert promoter, artist manager, and booking agent. He is News Editor for Vip News, an online data and news service for the live music industry, and is Associate Editor of IQ Magazine – the monthly journal of the International Live Music Conference. He also administrates music-publishing company Wintrup Songs Ltd and has consulted to many international trade events including ILMC in London, Noorderslag Seminar/Eurosonic Festival in Holland, and MaMa Paris. 

PAULO VENTURA (PT)
Manager, producer and booker / Founder, Metronomo (Portugal)

Paulo Ventura has been an active agent in the Portuguese music scene for the last three decades. He started out as a road manager and programmer in the late 80’s and since then he has acted as manager, booker, producer and promoter. He has worked with the biggest music companies in Portugal and has been a producer at some of the biggest summer festivals (Super Bock Super Rock, Cool Jazz Fest, Sumol Summer Fest, Vilar de Mouros, Optimus Alive, to name just a few). Paulo Ventura is the founder and manager of Metronomo agency, managing artists such as The Legendary Tigerman, Wraygunn, Linda Martini and Capitão Fausto.

CLEMENTINE BUNEL (UK)
Founder, 2 For the Road (UK) / Live agent, ATC Live (UK)

Clementine Bunel is the founder and director of 2 For the Road Events (2009), a London-based company representing and presenting some of the world’s most exciting artists for performance in the UK and internationally. She is also a live agent for ATC Live, an independent artist booking agency based in London. Her rooster includes La Roux, Benjamin Clementine, José James, Bebel Gilberto, Batida, Stromae, Calypso Rose, among many others.
