O FIMA 2017 – Festival Internacional de Música do Algarve apresenta “Concertos Brandeburgueses”, com a Academy of Ancient Music dirigida pelo violinista Bojan Čičić, partilhando o palco com os solistas Rachel Brown na flauta e Alastair Ross no cravo. A Academy of Ancient Music, que interpreta música do período barroco e clássico respeitando os padrões interpretativos originais, chega-nos do Reino Unido, trazendo na bagagem um reportório de Bach e Telemann, representantes do Barroco nos seus momentos finais.
Os dois concertos brandeburgueses de Bach que irão ser ouvidos pertencem a um conjunto de seis, compostos na corte calvinista de Köthen, num tempo em que se dedicou sobretudo à música profana e instrumental (ao contrário do que lhe era usual). De Telemann, um dos grandes nomes do barroco tardio alemão, mas já associado ao chamado “estilo galante”, são apresentados o “Concerto para Flauta em Mi menor” e “Burlesque de Quixotte”.
The FIMA - Festival Internacional de Música do Algarve presents the “Brandenburg Concertos” with the Academy of Ancient Music directed by violinist Bojan Čičić, who will share the stage with the soloists Rachel Brown on flute, and Alastair Ross on harpsichord. The Academy of Ancient Music musical performances respect the original patterns from the baroque and classic periods. The ensemble reaches us from the United Kingdom and brings in its luggage a Bach and Telemann repertoire, composers who represent the late Baroque.
The two Brandenburg Concertos that will be heard today belong to a set of six composed by Bach, while in the court of Calvinist Köthen, at a time when the composer especially devoted himself to the profane and instrumental music (contrary to what was usual in his epoch). From Telemann, one of the great names of the late German baroque, though already associated to the so-called “galant style”, we present the "Concerto for flute in E minor" and the "Burlesque de Don Quixotte".
