SCHUBERT Apoio: Câmara Municipal de Castro Marim O FIMA 2017 – Festival Internacional de Música do Algarve apresenta o terceiro concerto da série “Grandes Quartetos”, com o Quarteto de Cordas de Matosinhos. A obra “Sisyphus” de Luís Soldado foi inspirada no ensaio filosófico de Albert Camus (“O Mito de Sísifo”), que retrata a filosofia do absurdo através desta figura mitológica, condenada pelos deuses a repetir eternamente a missão de empurrar uma pedra até o topo de uma montanha e deixá-la rolar novamente até ao ponto de partida. É com esta peça que iniciamos este concerto, seguindo com Shostakovich e o seu “Quarteto de Cordas nº 8, Op. 110” e terminando com “Quarteto de Cordas nº 14, D. 810, A Morte e a Donzela” de Schubert, inspirado no lied que lhe dá o nome (Der Todt und Das Mädchen). Este quarteto reflete uma grande intensidade dramática, pois Schubert estava consciente da sua morte eminente, o que se traduz nas tonalidades que utiliza, criando algumas sonoridades ditas “místicas”. O Quarteto de Cordas de Matosinhos é residente nesta cidade, onde desenvolve uma temporada regular de concertos, assumindo um forte compromisso com o reportório português para quarteto de cordas. The FIMA – Festival Internacional de Música do Algarve presents the third concert of the series “Great Quartets”, with the Quarteto de Matosinhos. The work “Sisyphus” by Luís Soldado was inspired by the philosophical essay written by Albert Camus (“The Myth of Sisyphus”), which depicts the philosophy of the absurd using a Greek mythological creature who was condemned by the gods to eternally repeat the mission of pushing a stone up to the top of a mountain and then letting it roll back to the starting point. It is with this piece that we start this concert. Then we will listen to Shostakovich and his “String Quartet No. 8, Op. 110” and the concert will end with Schubert’s “String Quartet No. 14, D. 810, The Death and the Maiden”, inspired in the lied with the same name (Der Todt und das Mädchen). This work reflects a great dramatic intensity, since Schubert was aware of his imminent death, evoked in the shades used to create some sounds designated as ‘mystics’.
