Um coreógrafo entra para um espaço, move-se e fala sobre o que ele ou ela está a fazer. Os artistas escolhem fisicalidades temáticas dos seus trabalhos coreográficos e falam sobre os modos como pensam o que estão a fazer o que fazem, quais são as associações que têm naqueles momentos específicos, o que pensam que está a acontecer e qual o seu interesse naquilo, etc, etc . Eles fazem-no enquanto se movem a partir da própria fisicalidade. walk+talk é uma prática e um método de fazer e partilhar num contexto público o quanto uma prática fala sobre a prática de cada um. Não se trata tanto de descrever ou explicar mas como o falar pode transformar-se num gesto em si mesmo, um gesto de afirmação que está em paralelo com o movimento. Talvez diferentes formas discursivas possam aparecer, e outras coisas ficam melhor se não forem enunciadas. A lecture performance walk+talk é uma declaração e uma secção de cruzamento do trabalho actual dos coreógrafos. Deverá ser uma performance séria, até 50 minutos de duração. Tem um início e um fim, e se acreditar, tem de ser aberta e casual, e cada um saberá como fazê-lo. Penso que estou interessado em artistas que estão completamente concentrados e focados em si mesmos, permitindo que essa intimidade, que para mim é uma existência silenciosa, deve ser ouvida através da tentativa do falar enquanto se faz. Não é sobre a quantidade de palavras mas talvez sobre uma forma de ressonância criada por tentativas de comunicar pela palavra, uma possibilidade de partilha. Walk + talk is a practice and method of doing and sharing in a public context as much as a practice that speaks about one's practice. it is less about description and explanation than speaking becoming a gesture itself, a gesture of utterance running parallel to the moving. maybe different forms of speech can appear, and some things will be better left unnamed. The lecture performance walk + talk is a statement and cross section of the choreographers work at present. it should be a serious performance, up to 50 minutes. it has a beginning and an end and if you believe it has to be open and casual, you know how to do that. i think i am into artists being totally concentrated and into themselves, allowing that intimate, for me mainly mute existence, to be heard through the attempt of speaking whilst doing. it’s not about quantity of words but maybe a form of resonance being created by attempts of speaking, out. a possibility of sharing.
