In a futuristic Japan after the end of a huge world war, science has evolved significantly, which has given mankind the choice of prolonging life and reducing suffering through sophisticated cybernetics. With all humanity connected to a system of minds and personalities entitled "Ghosts," the greatest civilizational threat is cyberterrorism, which is capable of ensnaring the bodies and minds of each and every individual.
