A sua militância remonta ao início dos anos 80, com os Enchantment, reforça o dominio do future funk quando entra no universo Parliament/Funkadelic e prossegue em expansão, ajudando a abrir caminho para outros, como J Dilla, que iniciou nos procedimentos da MPC, ou Maxwell, em quem apostou quando ainda desconhecido. Fiddler esteve ao serviço de outros antes de encontrar uma voz própria, o que, na verdade, só começou a fazer-se notar depois da viragem do século, mas chegou depressa herói da nova soul. Omnipresente mas também discreto, Amp Fidler tem mantido actividade regular mesmo quando não dá a cara - além de ter voz e dedo em lançamentos recentes de Omar S. ou Moodymann, dois intocáveis do techno e house de Detroit, mantém também o projecto The Digitarians e em 2016 lançou um novo álbum em nome próprio, "Motor City Booty", um disco de funk retro futurista com soul injectada de electrónica e jazz, sintética e orgânica ao mesmo tempo. As múltiplas remisturas entretanto lançadas só sublinham a natureza mutante mas profundamente emotiva, e sempre elegante, da música de Amp Fiddler. Amp Fiddler has worked with almost all the big names, all those and a few more. Singer, multi instrumentalist and producer, Amp Fiddler has been a key figure in Detroit. Back in the early 80s he was playing with Enchantment, then got under the influence of the Parliment/Funkadelic universe and reinforced the future funk knowledge, continuing a path that opened doors to others, like J Dilla, whom he taught to use the MPC, or Maxwell in who believed when he was still unknown. Mr. Fiddler helped others in their way before finding his own voice, which only happened by the turn of the century, but soon became a true nu soul hero. Ubiquitous yet discreet, Amp Fidler has been working hard even when it doesn't show - besides having his voice and personal touch on recent stuff from such Detroit greats as Omar S and Moodyman, he also has The Digitarians side project and in 2016 released "Motor City Booty", a retro funk record, soul infused with electronics and jazz, both synthetic and organic.
